Sheriff’s Report 11-30-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against one individual.

A Weems man, 50, was charged November 20 with two counts of assault and battery of a family or household member.

Activity report

November 20: Staff responded to the 200 block of Carlson Road for a suspicious person, to the 300 block of North Main Street for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 600 block of Johns Neck Road for an assault and battery, to Mary Ball Road and Milburn Way for a suspicious person, and to the 300 block of Lara Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

November 21: Staff responded to the 90 block of FMC Drive for destruction of property, to the 1600 block of Chownings Ferry Road for an adult welfare check, to White Chapel and River roads for debris in the highway, to the 4000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, and to Mary Ball and Kamps Mill roads for a disabled vehicle.

November 22: Staff responded to the 500 block of Longview Lane for larceny, to Harris and Irvington roads for a disabled vehicle, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for larceny, to the 100 block of Peake Road for suspicious activity, to the 400 block of Kenmore Avenue for fraud, to the 900 block of Johns Neck Road for a traffic complaint, and to the 200 block of Ocran Road for a suspicious person.

November 23: Staff responded to the 400 block of North Main Street for suspicious activity, to the 200 block of Golden Tale Lane for a disabled vehicle, to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, and to the 300 block of Devils Bottom Road for a verbal disagreement.

November 24: Staff responded to the 7000 block of River Road for suspicious activity, to the 300 block of Leatherneck Lane for a juvenile complaint, to the 100 block of Gordon Drive for a trespassing complaint, and to the 1600 block of Chownings Ferry Road for an adult welfare check.

November 25: Staff responded to the 100 block of Windmill Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of North Main Street for suspicious activity, and to the 60 block of Cove Creek Court for suspicious activity.

November 26: Staff responded to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 4000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle.

November 27: Staff responded to Weems Road for a suspicious person, to the 700 block of Sage Hill Road for a juvenile complaint, and to the 500 block of North Main Street for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 10 traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded six deer strike accidents, investigated seven building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports, received five E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to 106 Bar Neck Lane for a fire alarm.

The White Stone VFD responded to 1010 Chesapeake Drive for a fire alarm.
