Sheriff’s Report 12-08-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Oriel Purchell Lee, 33, of Lancaster was charged December 1 with assault and battery of a family member, third offense.

Misdemeanors

A Columbia, Md. female, 57, was charged November 30 with appearing intoxicated in public.

A Lancaster man, 29, was charged November 30 with contempt of court: failure to appear.

A Farnham man, 43, was charged December 2 with contempt of court: failure to appear; reckless driving: speeding 20 miles per hour or more over the speed limit; driving while license is suspended/revoked; forged license plates/decals; operating an uninsured motor vehicle; and failure to have vehicle inspected.

Activity report

November 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Grove Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 8300 block of Mary Ball Road for a disorderly person, to the 100 block of Hopewell to check the welfare of a resident, and to the 6300 block of Mary Ball Road for a wanted person.

November 29: Staff responded to the 1400 block of Weems Road for a suicidal person, to the 200 block of Flats Lane to check the welfare of a resident, and to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road to assist emergency medical services (EMS) with a patient with seizures and an altered mental status.

November 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Rose Drive for a trespasser, to the 300 block of Oak Hill Road for a person with an altered mental status, to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for a verbal disagreement, and to the 2500 block of Merry Point Road for a domestic assault.

December 1: Staff responded to Old Orchard Drive and Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road to assist EMS with a disorderly patient, to Townley Farm Road for damage to a farmer’s field, to the 4400 block of Mary Ball Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a customer, to the 200 block of Irvington Road for a juvenile behavior issue, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with the report of suspicious activity, and to the 100 block of Hickory Road to check the welfare of the resident after being alerted by a family member.

December 2: Staff responded to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a fight in progress, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a dump truck loosing rocks which hit the windshield of another vehicle, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with the report of a disorderly person, and to the 700 block of Millenbeck Road for a domestic disturbance.

December 3: Staff responded to River and Bewdley roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, to the 500 block of Merry Point Road for the report of suspicious activity, and to the 100 block of Bay Court for two individuals wanted in Gloucester County.

December 4: Staff responded to Ocran and Poplar Neck roads for three horses in the roadway, to Mary Ball Road between White Stone and Kilmarnock for a reckless driver, and to Mary Ball and Ocran roads for a disturbance over the reckless driving of a motorist.

Staff also conducted 17 traffic stops, issued 13 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled 12 calls for traffic control, investigated a building alarm, processed a mental health order, logged four inmate transports, received 12 E911 hang up calls, and fielded 3 calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire on Flats Lane and Lancaster Creek Drive.
