Sheriffs’ Report 6-06-19

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

David Michael Eldridge Jr., 29, of Lancaster was charged June 2 with unlawfully stabbing, cutting or wounding a person with the intent to harm, disfigure, disable or kill.

Chad Paul McFarland, 37, of Lakeland, Fla., was charged June 3 with unlawfully stabbing, cutting or wounding a person with intent to harm, disfigure, disable or kill; and intentionally destroying, damaging, defacing property belonging to another.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man, 50, was charged May 27 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Weems woman, 52, was charged May 31 with attempting to without just cause knowingly obstruct a witness in the performance of duties.

A Lancaster man, 21, was charged May 31 with two counts of revocation of pretrial release on a felony charge.

A Weems man, 53, was charged June 1 with violating a protective order.

A Kilmarnock woman, 42, was charged June 2 with assault and battery.

Activity report

May 27: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Windmill Point Road to check the welfare of a resident after receiving a report from neighbors, to the 100 block of Scott Road for a trespasser acting disorderly, to North Main Street and Town Centre Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash with injuries, to Kamps Mill Road for a trespasser, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for larceny of two five-gallon cans of gasoline, to the 4100 block of Merry Point Road to check the welfare of a female after receiving a report from Social Services, and to the 11000 block of River Road for a domestic assault.

May 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of East Cove Lane for violation of a protective order, and to the 1100 block of Mosquito Point Road for trespassers.

May 29: Staff responded to the 2900 block of White Chapel Road for a malicious wounding and vandalism of a building, to White Chapel and Mary Ball roads for suspicious persons, to the 100 block of Snug Harbor Drive for grand larceny and forgery of checks, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a juvenile with emotional issues, and to the 500 block of North Main Street for a person with mental issues.

May 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Bow Wood Drive to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with a burglary in progress, to the 8400 block of Mary Ball Road for an attempted burglary, to the 200 block of Irvington Road for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 200 block of Mosquito Point Road for a domestic disturbance, and to Madison Circle for an abandoned vehicle.

May 31: Staff responded to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Goodluck Road to assist NCSO with an arrest, to Mary Ball Road in White Stone for a reckless driver, to Oak Hill Road for a parked trailer causing a traffic hazard.

June 1: Staff responded to the 100 block of First Street for a verbal dispute, to the 200 block of Pleasant Banks Lane for destruction of a mailbox, to the 900 block of Merry Point Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a larceny, to the 400 block of Loblolly Road for a child custody issue, and to a walk-in report of an assault.

June 2: Staff responded to the 600 block of Goodluck Road for a fight in progress involving a large crowd and alcohol, to the 2100 block of Ditchley Road to assist NCSO with the theft of a canine, to the 1900 block of Rocky Neck Road for vandalism to a dock, to the 100 block of Chase Street to assist KPD with a suspicious vehicle, to Shore Drive for juveniles driving recklessly on the highway, to the 300 block of Weems Road for a domestic disturbance that involved vandalism, and to the 400 block of White Hall Road for a suicidal person.

Staff also conducted 35 traffic stops, issued 19 summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated 12 building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged three inmate transports, received six E911 hang-up calls and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash at Main Street and Town Centre Drive.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a vehicle fire on Lara Road and a fire/smoke alarm on Mary Ball Road.

The White Stone VFD responded to a lift assistance request on Joyful Way and a fire/smoke alarm on King Carter Drive.

EMS calls

For May 26-June 1, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 33 calls for service, including 20 medical emergencies, seven injuries, two traffic accidents, a fire and three other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 16 individuals.

Felonies

Michelle Ann King, 53, of Warsaw was charged May 20 with possession of a Schedule I or II drug, and possession of paraphernalia. She also was charged with driving under the influence, second offense within a 5-10-year period, and reckless driving.

Tercel Javon Butler, 24, of Warsaw was charged May 27 with four counts of malicious wounding, damaging property and assault and battery.

Shanekya Johnea Tate, 24, of Kinsale was charged May 28 with strangulation. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.

Dontay N. Davis, 29, of Heathsville was charged May 31 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear after signing a form to appear for trial. He also was served with a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to appear in that court as well. These were served by the Virginia State Police.

Carl T. Rich, 30, of Heathsville was charged June 2 with a capias to show cause, issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court to revoke his bond for violating his conditions of his release.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 41, was charged May 22 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Callao woman, 35, was charged May 23 with assault and battery of a family member. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

A Hague man, 53, was charged May 27 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense.

A Burgess man, 35, was charged May 28 with being drunk in public.

A Callao man, 32, was charged May 29 with stalking.

A Reedville man, 22, was charged May 30 with possession of marijuana, first offense.

A Reedville man, 24, was charged May 30 with possession of marijuana, first offense.

A Reedville woman, 41, was charged with possession of marijuana, first offense, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A Lancaster man, 21, was charged May 31 on a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court to revoke his bond for failing to comply with the conditions of his release. He was arrested by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

A Farnham man, 25, was charged June 1 with being drunk in public.

A White Stone man, 18, was charged June 1 with possession of alcohol under age and drunk in public.
