Sheriff’s Reports 01-04-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A White Stone man, 34, was charged December 27 with two counts of assault and battery of a family or household member.

A Heathsville man, 26, was charged December 28 with revocation of suspension on sentence and probation for the underlying charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle—Lancaster County, and revocation of suspension of sentence and probation for the underlying charge of disregarding signal by law enforcement officer to stop; eluding police—City of Newport News.

A Cobbs Creek man, 35, was charged December 28 with failure to appear in the Lancaster County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

December 26: Staff responded to the 10 block of Shalem Place for a child welfare check, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing, to the 500 block of Greentown Road for check theft and forgery, to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for trespassing, to Iberis Road for a vehicle in the highway blocking traffic, to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for loitering, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 100 block of Indian Path Lane for an adult welfare check, to Weems Road and Blue Jay Lane for a tree down blocking traffic.

December 27: Staff responded to the 1400 block of Shore Drive for a verbal disagreement, to the 4000 block of Windmill Point Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

December 28: Staff responded to the 10000 block of Mary Ball Road for debris in the highway, and to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for an adult welfare check.

December 29: Staff responded to Black Stump and Nugent roads for a domestic disturbance, to the 600 block of Boys Camp Road for destruction of property, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a verbal disagreement, to Buzzards Neck Road for suspicious activity, to 1000 block of Goodluck Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for suspicious activity.

December 30: Staff responded to the 80 block of Gaines Road for legal advice.

December 31: Staff responded to the 1 block of Dunton Lane for a scam, to the 2000 block of Windmill Point Road for a stolen motor vehicle, to the 500 block of Paynes Creek Road for suspicious activity, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an assault and battery warrant, and to the 100 block of Iberis Road for suspicious activity.

January 1: Staff responded to the 4000 block of Windmill Point Road for a stolen motor vehicle, and to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for harassment.

Staff also conducted 17 traffic stops, issued 11 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled a call for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged an inmate transport, received five E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Sheriff McCranie reported charges against three individuals for the week ending December 25.

Felony

John Noah Tingle, 37, of Irvington was charged December 19 with eight counts of revocation of pretrial release on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock woman, 28, was charged December 19 with driving a motor vehicle on a highway while license is suspended or revoked.

A Lancaster man, 42, was charged December 23 with driving while intoxicated with a BAC between .15%-.20%, consuming an alcoholic beverage while driving a motor vehicle on a public highway and driving a motor vehicle on a highway at a speed of 51 miles per hour which was in excess of the applicable maximum speed limit of 35 miles per hour.

December 18: Staff responded to the 100 block of Moran Creek Road for an unattended vehicle, to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway, to the 400 block of Colinbrook Way for larceny, to the 200 block of Old Fairground Way for a fight in progress, and to Chases Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

December 19: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for debris in the highway.

December 20: Staff responded to the 10 block of Joyful Way for a verbal disagreement, to the 500 block of Cherry Point Drive for livestock in the highway, to Good Luck Road for a reckless driver, to the Norris Bridge to assist with traffic control, to the 2000 block of White Chapel Road for legal advice, to the 200 block of Cove Drive for a suspicious person, to the 50 block of James Lane for a motorcycle traffic crash, to the 300 block of North Main Street for a verbal disagreement, and to the 200 block of Bells Creek Lane to assist Northumberland Sheriff’s Office with an adult welfare check.

December 21: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Ocran Road for suspicious activity, to the 200 block of Red Fox Lane for suspicious activity, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint.

December 22: Staff responded to Irvington Road for a noise complaint, to Windmill Point Road for graffiti on the highway, to Blueberry Point Road for destruction of property, to the 200 block of Piney Road for larceny, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order, and to the 300 block of Lara Road for a child welfare check.

December 23: Staff responded to the 8000 block of River Road for a verbal disagreement, to Merry Point  and Buzzards Neck roads for the report of gunshots in the early morning hours, to the Norris Bridge for a disabled vehicle, and to the 600 block of Lara Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

December 24: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Merry Point roads for a reckless driver, and to the 900 block of White Chapel Road for a suspicious person.

December 25: Staff responded to the 2000 block of River Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 1200 block of Irvington Road for destruction of property.

Staff also conducted 17 traffic stops, issued 15 summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded six deer strike accidents, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated two building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received nine E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at 56 Old Oak Trail, a propane leak at 851 Rappahannock Drive, and a brush fire on Beachwood Drive.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a vehicle fire at 1509 Shore Drive.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to an electrical fire at 388 North Main Street.
