Sheriffs’ Reports 01-27-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported no arrests for the second week in a row.

Activity report

January 17: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for trees down in the roadway, to the 5500 block of Mary Ball Road to assist a person locked out of their house, responded to Rocky Neck and Granville roads for trees down in the roadway, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge to assist the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office with a wanted person, and to the 300 block of Jeffrey Avenue for a wanted person.

January 18: Staff responded to the 10000 block of River Road for a burglary, to the area of Mob Neck to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with the search of a missing female, to Irvington Road and King Carter Drive for speeders, and to Johns Neck Road for four-wheelers riding on the public roadway.

January 19: Staff responded to the 2100 block of Merry Point Road for a suspicious person, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious person, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for an assault.

January 20: Staff responded to the 500 block of Sullavans Road for suspicious activity, to the 300 block of Pine Trail to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a trespasser, and to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a wanted person.

January 21: Staff responded to the 2900 block of Lara Road for an assault, to Middle Gate for suspicious activity, to Rappahannock Drive in White Stone for a reckless driver, to the 300 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a suspicious person, and to the 200 block of Campbell Road for a noise violation from loud music.

January 22: Staff responded to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for a hit and run.

January 23: Staff responded to the 300 block of Callis Road for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 25 traffic stops, issued 17 summonses, assisted four motorists, handled four calls for traffic control, investigated 12 building alarms, logged four inmate transports and received 11 E911 hang-up calls.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a structure fire on Flats Lane.

Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Ottoman Ferry Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a brush fire on Indiantown Road and with Kilmarnock VFD to a fire alarm on South Main Street.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 18 individuals.

Felonies

Jesse Allen King, 54, of Callao, was charged December 25, 2021, with felony threatening communication in writing.

Steward Eldon Noel III, 28, of Heathsville, was charged December 30, 2021, with two counts of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I/II drug, and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule IV drug. Noel also was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm with a Schedule I/II drug. He also was charged with a misdemeanor, pointing and brandishing a firearm.

Elijah Walter McKinley, 22, of Heathsville, was charged January 5 with a capias to show cause that was issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court.

Thomas Waiter Hathaway, 38, of Reedville was charged January 10 with grand larceny of a firearm and obstruction of justice.

Michael Williams, 25, of Kilmarnock, was charged January 11 on a felony warrant issued by Fairfax County General District Court for distribution/selling of a Schedule I/II drug. He also was charged with a capias to show cause issued by the Shenandoah County Circuit Court for failing to appear on several charges.

Donald Lee Michalak Jr., 30, of Heathsville, was charged January 13 with assault and battery of a family member, third-plus offense.

Tyrone Noel Samuel, 50, of Heathsville, was charged January 15 with abduction by force.

Misdemeanors

A Lottsburg man, 34, was charged December 27, 2021, with assault and battery of a family member.

A Hague man, 53, was charged January 10 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for violating his pre-trial services by testing positive for cocaine and alcohol.

A Heathsvlile man, 29, was charged January 10 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear.

A Lottsburg man, 42, was charged January 10 with damaging property and interfering with the property rights of another.

A Hague man, 53, was charged January 11 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for providing positive urine samples for drug use, namely cocaine and alcohol and failing to report for random screenings.

A Heathsville woman, 37, was charged January 11 with assault and battery of a family member. She also was charged with damaging property.

A Heathsville woman, 23, was charged July 13 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Hague woman, 56, was charged January 19 with violating a protective order. This was a Westmoreland County warrant served by Northumberland County.

A Callao man, 19, was charged July 21 with being drunk in public.

A Hayes woman, 24, was charged July 22 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for violating her pretrial services by testing positive for two drug tests.

A Reedville man, 30, was charged January 23 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense.
