Sheriffs’ Reports 01-29-26

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A Heathsville man, 61, was charged January 20 with failure to provide child support as ordered on July 22, 2025.

A Kilmarnock man, 19, was charged January 20 with obscene sexual display.

A White Stone woman, 45, was charged January 22 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

Activity report

January 19: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Goodluck Road for a custody dispute, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

January 20: Staff responded to the 100 block of Doggett Lane for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Oyster Creek Drive for a traffic hazard, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a scam, and to Old Salem Road for debris in the highway.

January 21: Staff responded to the 200 block of Oyster Lane for a welfare check, to the 1500 block of Old Salem Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 2000 block of Lara Road for an adult welfare check, to Taylors Creek Road and Faith Circle for an abandoned vehicle, and to Monaskon and River roads for a disabled vehicle.

January 22: Staff responded to the 600 block of Paynes Creek Road for a verbal dispute, and to the 2000 block of Lara Road for a civil complaint.

January 23: Staff responded to the 400 block of McSwain Road for fraud.

January 24: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Ocran Road for the report of an adult welfare check, to the 5000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 4000 block of Mary Ball Road for a traffic complaint, and to the 4000 block of Irvington Road for a downed tree.

January 25: Staff responded to the 500 block of Beach Road for a downed utility power line, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

Staff also conducted nine traffic stops, issued five summonses, assisted two motorists, handled a request for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, received five E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Old Salem Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to brush fires on Fawn Lane, Morattico Road and with Upper Lancaster VFD at Pinckardsville Road and Williams Mill Lane.

Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to an electrical fire on Shore Drive.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp on January 21 reported charges against 19 individuals.

Felonies

Nicholas Roe, 35, of Heathsville was charged December 21 with a felony bad check.

David Brian Acors, 46, of Lottsburg was charged January 6 with three felony counts of damaging property and two charges of reckless handling of a firearm. Acors also was charged with two misdemeanors for damaging property.

Clinton Junior Hooper, 49, of Lottsburg was charged January 17 with two counts of grand larceny, and one misdemeanor count of driving a commercial vehicle without a commercial license.

Misdemeanors

A Lottsburg man, 50, was charged December 20 with stalking.

A Heathsville man, 55, was charged December 22 with threatening an illegal or immoral act over the phone. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Kilmarnock Police Department.

A Heathsville man, 20, was charged December 24 with driving after illegally consuming alcohol, disregarding a law enforcement signal and reckless driving. Additional charges were fleeing from law enforcement, driving with an open container and refusing the breath test.

A Kinsale man, 34, was charged December 24 with petit larceny. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

A Heathsville woman, 60, was issued a summons December 24 for shoplifting at the Food Lion in Heathsville.

A St. Stephens Church woman, 20, was charged December 26 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville man, 24, was charged December 26 with assault and battery of a family member and damaging property.

A Heathsville man, 54, was charged December 28 with two counts of violating a protective order. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Newport News man, 43, was charged January 2 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Northumberland County Juvenile and Relations Court. He was arrested by the Newport News Sheriff’s Office.

A Lottsburg woman, 64, was charged January 6 with criminal trespassing.

A Heathsville man, 44, was charged January 12 with assault and battery.

A Burgess man, 36, was charged January 13 with three misdemeanors of violating a protective order. These warrants were served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Burgess woman, 68, was charged January 14 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland General District Court for failing to appear.

A Hampton woman, 56, was charged January 15 with failing to appear in the Hampton General District Court. She was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

A Lottsburg woman, 64, was charged January 19 with criminal trespassing.

A White Stone man, 36, was charged January 17 with three misdemeanor counts of violating a protective order. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Reminder, those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
