Sheriffs’ Reports 02-11-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against four individuals.

A Lancaster man, 32, was charged February 1 with assault.

A Lancaster man, 64, was charged February 3 with appearing intoxicated in public.

A Lancaster man, 23, was charged February 4 with assault and intentionally damaging property valued less than $1,000.

A Lancaster man, 20, was charged February 5 with obstructing justice by giving false information to a criminal investigator and driving without a license.

Activity report

February 1: Staff responded to the 500 block of Gaskins Road for a larceny, and to to the Irvington Road area to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a vehicle failing to stop for law enforcement.

February 2: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Old Salem Road for a noise violation from barking dogs, to River and White Hall roads for an abandoned vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a child’s car seat in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, and to the 100 block of Washington Street for brandishing a firearm.

February 3: Staff responded to the 700 block of Nuttsville Road for the reported violation of a protective order, to Courthouse and Mary Ball roads for a three-vehicle traffic crash, to the 600 block of Scott Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for an assault.

February 4: Staff responded to the 900 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 1000 block of Laurel Point Road to assist emergency medical services with the victim of an ATV/4 wheeler accident, and to a walk-in report of an assault and damaged property.

February 5: Staff responded to the 400 block of Levelgreen Road for a prowler, and to the 7500 block of River Road for a suspicious activity.

February 6: Staff responded to the 5300 block of Morattico Road for a domestic disturbance involving a juvenile, and to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for the report of a disorderly person.

February 7: Staff responded to the 100 block of Windmill Point Road for a person who appeared intoxicated and disorderly, and to the 900 block of Black Stump Road for the destruction of a mailbox.

Staff also conducted 19 traffic stops, issued 17 summonses, assisted three motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, investigated seven building alarms, processed a mental health order, received 17 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded five calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Brightwaters Drive, and with Kilmarnock VFD to separate fire/smoke alarm calls on Lancaster Road and British Landing Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Granville Bay Road and a brush fire on Levelgreen Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 13 individuals.

Felonies

Daniel James Banes, 38, of Callao was charged January 30 with four counts of forgery. These were Northumberland County warrants. He was served by the Richmond City Police Department.

Shoran Stafford Hudnall, 53, of Heathsville was charged February 1with credit card larceny and two counts of petit larceny.

Malik Raquei Ball, 20, of Lancaster was charged February 3 with two counts of unlawfully shooting at an occupied vehicle. He also was charged with damaging property in value of $1,000 or more. The misdemeanor charges consisted of shooting in a public place and reckless handling of a firearm.

Stanley Willard Prescott Jr., 61, of Farnham was charged February 5 with driving revoked/habitual offender. He also was charged with a summons for speeding.

Steven Allen Atkins, 29, of Reedville was charged February 6 with abduction by force, and assault and battery of a family member.

William Donald Brown II, 36, of Reedville was charged February 8 with strangulation, and assault and battery of a family member.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 31, was charged January 23 with a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Lancaster County General District Court for failing to appear in their court on an original charge of driving suspended, third-plus offense.

A Winchester man, 35, was charged January 30 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Winchester County General District Court. He was served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

A Heathsvllle man, 49, was charged February 2 with three counts of threatening an illegal or immoral act over the telephone.

A Callao woman, 30, was charged February 2 with a capias to show cause issued by the Westmoreland County Circuit Court for failure to comply with conditions of her release. She was arrested by the NCSO.

A Dunnsville man, 21, was charged February 6 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and reckless driving.

A Lancaster woman, 46, was charged February 7 with damaging property at the Bay Motel.

A Montross man, 31, was charged February 7 with assault on a family member. This was a Westmoreland County warrant, served by the NCSO.
