Sheriffs’ Reports 03-10-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Wallace Evans Rice, 56, of Kilmarnock was charged February 28 with probation violation on a felony offense.

Devon Lee Napier, 34, of White Stone was charged March 3 with probation violation. He also was charged March 6 with community diversion: violation on a felony offense and probation violation on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Nuttsville man, 32, was charged March 2 with using profane language over the telephone/text.

A White Stone woman, 31, was charged March 4 with driving while intoxicated, first offense, blood alcohol content .15-.20%; reckless driving; and failure to obey traffic lane markings.

A White Stone man, 22, was charged March 4 with violating a pretrial release.

A White Stone woman, 44, was charged March 6 with failure to report a property damage accident, and reckless driving: driving out of control or bad brakes.

Activity report

February 28: Staff responded to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a gunshot victim, to Kenner and Woods drives for a suspicious person, to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Goodluck Road for nails in the roadway, to the 11100 block of Mary Ball Road to assist with a vehicle fire, to White Stone for a stolen vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver, to the 1100 block of Regina Road for a trespasser, to the 18300 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity, and to the 100 block of Cedar Lane to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a kidnapping.

March 1: Staff responded to the 1900 block of Lara Road to check the welfare of a resident, to the 300 block of Ocran Road for a possible intoxicated driver, and to the 1600 block of Windmill Point Road for a trespasser.

March 2: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for a possible suicidal person, and to the 800 block of Ring Farm Road for a domestic disturbance.

March 3: Staff responded to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for money obtained by false pretense, to the 1300 block of Old Salem Road for an assault and vandalism, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road to check the welfare of two juveniles, to a walk-in report of a threat to harm another, to Chases and Townley Farm roads for a domestic assault, and to Chinns Mill on Mary Ball Road for gunshots in the evening hours.

March 4: Staff responded to the 100 block of Paynes Shop Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 4300 block of Morattico Road for a juvenile behavior issue, to Chases Road and Apple Grove Boulevard for a suspicious person, to Mary Ball Road and Milburn Way for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Old Salem and Irvington roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Mary Ball and Courthouse roads for a possible intoxicated driver, and to Weems and Christ Church roads for a suspicious person.

March 5: Staff responded to the 800 block of Nuttsville Road for vandalism of a vehicle, to the 500 block of Merry Point Road for shooting into an occupied vehicle that occurred in Wicomico Church, to White Stone for a reckless driver, to Ottoman Ferry Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to Christ Church Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a utility pole.

March 6: Staff responded to the 600 block of Black Stump Road for a trespasser.

Staff also conducted 11 traffic stops, issued nine summonses, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled six calls for traffic control, investigated six building alarms, logged three inmate transports and received 10 E911 hang-up calls.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Mary Ball Road and a fire alarm on William B. Graham Court.

White Stone VFD responded to separate brush fires on Bluefish, Ocran and Windmill Point roads, and a traffic crash on Christ Church Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a field fire on Mary Ball Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Angela Diane Vaughn, 50, of Lottsburg was charged March 1 on two Richmond County felony warrants for breaking and entering and grand larceny.

Steward Eldon Noel III, 29, of Heathsville was charged March 1 with possession of a Schedule I/II drug with intent to distribute. He also was charged with felony possession of a firearm with possession of a Schedule I/II drug.

Wayne Dyneli Thompson, 44, of Lottsburg was charged March 6 with felony abuse/child neglect with causing serious injury. He also was charged with four felonies for child abuse/neglect with reckless regard for life.

Jessica Ann Thompson, 31, of Lottsburg was charged March 6 with felony abuse/child neglect with causing serious injury. She also was charged with five felonies of abuse/child neglect with reckless disregard for life.

Misdemeanors

A Lottsburg man, 24, was charged February 28 with a capias/attachment of the body for failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court on the original charge of being non-compliant with VASAP,

A Lottsburg man, 21, was charged March 1with petit larceny.

A Lottsburg man, 40, was charged March 2 with petit larceny of a vehicle with a value of less than $1,000.

A Kilmarnock woman, 80, was charged March 3 with assault and battery.

AHeathsville man, 42, was charged March 4 with practicing a profession and or occupation without a license.
