Sheriffs’ Reports 04-02-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A Crawford’s Corner man, 58, was charged March 25 with reckless driving and indecent exposure.

A Weems woman, 22, was charged March 27 with assault.

A Kilmarnock man, 24, was charged March 27 with violating community-based probation.

Activity report

March 23: Staff responded to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a domestic disturbance and vandalism, and to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a child custody issue.

March 24: Staff responded to the 1800 block of Hoecake Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by an employer, and to the 100 block of Walnut Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a possible burglary in progress.

March 25: Staff responded to the 7700 block of Jesse duPont Memorial Highway for gunshots and reckless driving, to the 1200 block of Ocran Road for a sudden death, to the 100 block of Harris Road for the report of child abuse, and to the 300 block of Hickory Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a relative.

March 26: Staff responded to the 300 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a disorderly person, to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a domestic disturbance, and to the 6800 block of Windmill Point Road for suspicious activity.

March 27: Staff responded to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a trespasser, to the 2200 block of Black Stump Road for a fight in progress, to the 100 block of Regina Road for an abandoned vehicle, to Lancaster Shores for gunshots; to Benson Road for illegally parked vehicles, to the 200 block of Pinckardsville Road for a sudden death, and to the 200 block of Greenwood Court for a domestic assault.

March 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Berkeley Forest Road to investigate the report of a sudden death, to the 100 block of Dream Point Road for a stolen canoe, and to Ocran Road for a driver with possible medical problems.

March 29: Staff responded to the 5000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 8500 block of Mary Ball Road for vandalism of a vehicle, to the 3600 block of Mary Ball Road for gunshots in the area, and to the 1400 block of Shore Drive for a possible overdose of narcotics.

Staff also conducted three traffic stops, issued a summons, assisted three motorists, investigated five building alarms, received 13 E911 hang-up calls, and handled a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Harris Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road.

EMS calls

For March 22-28, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 30 calls, including 19 medical emergencies, four injuries, a traffic accident, a fire and five other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Joe Hubbard Humphreys Jr., 50, of White Stone was charged March 9 with a felony bad check.

Regina Lynn Johnson, 51, of Hague was charged March 10 with two felony counts of forging bank notes and one count of obtaining information under false pretenses. These were Northumberland County warrants served by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO).

Kirk Duron Lee, 37, of Reedville was charged March 11 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to appear in court on his original charge.

Regina Lynn Johnson, 51, of Hague was charged March 12 with two felony counts of forgery of bank notes and obtaining money by false pretenses. These were Northumberland County charges served by the RCSO.

Jenny Lee Hayden, 36, of Callao was charged March 24 with breaking and entering a home at night while being armed. She also was charged with assault and battery and damaging property. These were Northumberland County warrants served by West Point Police Department (WPPD).

A Heathsville man, 44, was charged March 14 with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana and speeding.

A West Point woman, 36, was charged March 16 with violating a protective order and intentionally damaging property. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the WPPD.

A Hartfield woman, 42, was charged March 17 with failing to sterilize an adopted animal. This was a Northumberland County summons served by the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.

A Callao woman, 32, was charged March 19 with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving.
