Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.
Felony
Jared Doyle Roy, 38, of White Stone was charged March 31 with assault on a law enforcement officer; obstruction of justice (misdemeanor) and failure to appear in court on March 18 on the underlying charge of driving suspended, third or subsequent offense.
Misdemeanors
A Lancaster man, 35, was charged March 30 with assault and battery and two counts of failure to appear in court on December 17 and 22, 2025.
A Richmond man, 36, was charged April 2 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, consuming an alcoholic beverage while driving a motor vehicle upon a highway and reckless driving.
A Richmond man, 64, was charged April 4 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, refusal to submit breath or blood for chemical test, consuming an alcoholic beverage while driving a motor vehicle upon a highway and dumping or otherwise disposing of trash, garbage, refuse or other unsightly matter on public property or on private property without the written consent of the owner.

March 30: Staff responded to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a scam, and to the 3000 block of Lara Road for an assault.
March 31: Staff responded to the 800 block of West Point Road for a welfare check, to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for a verbal dispute, to the 400 block of Old Saint Johns Road for a suspicious person, to Buzzards Neck Road a traffic complaint, and to the 9000 block of River Road for a breaking and entering/larceny.
April: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Kamps Mill roads for a disabled vehicle, and to the 100 block of Leetown Road for a domestic disturbance.
April 2: Staff responded to the 11000 block of Mary Ball Road for bank fraud, to the 800 block of West Point Road for an adult welfare check, to Goodluck and Mary Ball roads for a disabled vehicle, to the 400 block of Keith Avenue for suspicious activity, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a civil complaint, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for check theft and forgery, to Weems and Irvington roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to Christ Church and Irvington roads for a reckless driver, to the 10 block of Wesley Terrace for a suspicious vehicle, and to Mosquito Point Road for a suspicious person.
April 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of Myway Lane for a domestic disturbance, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver, and to the 100 block of Gaskins Road for a domestic disturbance.
April 4: Staff responded to the 20 block of Fox Hill Drive for a suspicious person, to the 200 block of Benson Road for an adult welfare check, to the 100 block of Paynes Creek Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a fight in progress, and to the 8000 block of River Road for a domestic disturbance.
April 5: Staff responded to the 80 block of Westview Lane for a boat taking on water, to the 400 block of Goodluck Road for an intoxicated person, to the 400 block of East Senora Road for a civil complaint, and to the 400 block of Peirces Road for an adult welfare check.
Staff also conducted 36 traffic stops, issued 23 summonses, assisted seven motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a request for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received seven E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.
Fire calls
Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Prentice Point Drive, a traffic crash on North Main Street, a gas leak on Morattico Church Road, a propane leak on Woodys Lane and with White Stone VFD to a traffic crash at Weems and Irvington roads.
White Stone VFD also responded to a propane leak on Wayne Circle.
Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a vehicle fire on Mary Ball Road and provided mutual aid for a structure fire on Kinsale Road.
Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 10 individuals.
Felonies
Cyril Ignatius Kendrick, 64, of Heathsville was charged March 10 with a felony bad check.
Desmond Brice O’Neal Wiggins, 20, of Lottsburg was charged April 2 with two felony counts of selling/distributing a controlled substance, namely a Schedule I/II drug.
Misdemeanors
A Farnham woman, 38, was charged March 12 with assault and battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
A Tappahannock man, 55, was charged March 13 with a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear in their court. This paper was served by the Tappahannock Police Department.
A Callao man, 30, was charged March 16 with violating a protective order.
A Heathsville female, 56, was charged March 19 with issuing a bad check. This was a Richmond County warrant served by Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).
A Virginia Beach woman, 25, was charged March 24 with failing to appear on an original charge of driving while suspended. This was a Newport News warrant served by the NCSO.
A Callao man, 38, was charged March 24 with damaging property.
A Hague man, 27, was charged March 27 with assault and battery of a family member. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office.
A Lottsburg man, 45, was charged March 27 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court. He also was served a summons for playing loud music.
Reminder, those charged with alleged crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
