Sheriffs’ Reports 04-18-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Morson Lee Jr., 62, of Lancaster was charged April 11 with grand larceny.

Ashley Monique Ball, 33, of Lancaster was charged April 14 with strangulation and two counts of assault and battery of a family or household member (misdemeanor).

Misdemeanors

A White Stone man, 44, was charged April 10 with violation of revocation or suspension of sentence and probation for failure to enroll in the Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Plan.

A White Stone man, 34, was charged April 14 with violation of revocation of suspension of sentence and probation for failing to remain of peace and good behavior.

A Lancaster man, 41, was charged April 14 with failure to appear in the Essex County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on October 16.

Activity report

April 8: Staff responded to the 10000 block of River Road for destruction of property, to the 100 block of Pinckardsville Road for threats, to the 60 block of Beach Creek Road for an adult welfare check, and to the 300 block of Johns Neck Road for a juvenile complaint.

April 9: Staff responded to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a stolen U-Haul, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for an adult welfare check, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway.

April 10: Staff responded to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing, to Windmill Point Road for a traffic complaint, to the Norris Bridge for a disabled vehicle, to Mary Ball Road and Old Salem Road for a motor vehicle hit and run, to the 2000 block of Weems Road for legal advice, and to the 200 block of Windfall Lane for a suspicious vehicle.

April 11: Staff responded to Riverwood Drive for a suspicious vehicle, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassing, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to Courthouse Road for a disabled vehicle, and to Mary Ball Road and Avis Trail for a downed tree blocking the highway.

April 12: Staff responded to the 300 block of Black Stump Road for a downed tree blocking the highway, to Mary Ball and Goodluck roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 500 block of Oliver Lane for trespassing, and to the Norris Bridge to assist Virginia State Police with a large equipment transport across the bridge.

April 13: Staff responded to the 400 block of Levelgreen Road for a suspicious vehicle, to Norwood Church Road for gunshots in the late evening hours, to the 5000 block of Morattico Road for destruction of property, and to Mary Ball and Chases roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

April 14: Staff responded to the 100 block of Reynolds Farm Road for disorderly conduct and domestic disturbance, to the 1300 block of Old Salem Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 700 block of Rappahannock Drive for an adult welfare check, to the 100 block of Taylors Creek Road for suspicious activity, to Weems Road and Tom Morris Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for an abandoned vehicle, to the 700 block of Greenvale Road for a breaking and entering, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a verbal disagreement.

April 15: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for the report of fraud.

Staff also conducted 11 traffic stops, issued eight summonses, assisted two motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a call for traffic control, investigated 10 building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged an inmate transport, received nine E911 hang up calls and fielded six calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a brush fire at 2459 Moratico Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD also responded to a vehicle fire at 198 Mulberry Creek Road and an electrical fire smell at 8815 Mary Ball Road.

Kilmarnock FVD also responded to a fuel spill at 319 Dawson Lane.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 13 individuals.

Felonies

Richard Garland Gallagher Jr., 46, of Reedville was charged April 8 with felony breaking and entering and grand larceny.

Latasha Lorraine Flannery, 31, of Callao was charged April 9 with abuse/neglect of a child.

Taykwan D. Lucas-Croxton, 29, of Hague was charged April 11 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for two counts of violating his probation.

Misdemeanors

A Reedville woman, 75, was charged April 4 with assault and battery.

An Ashburn woman, 59, was charged April 5 with criminal trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

An Essex County woman, 25, was charged April 5 with assault and battery.

A Heathsville man, 23, was charged April 6 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville man, 35, was charged April 8 with two counts of obstruction of justice and disorderly conduct. He also was charged with stepping into a street with poor disability and abusive language to another. These were Northumberland County warrants, served by the Virginia State Police.

A Heathsville man, 53, was charged April 8 on a summons for driving suspended or revoked.

A Heathsville man, 35, was charged April 8 with two counts of threatening illegal or immoral act over the telephone.

A Heathsville woman, 65, was charged April 12 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Lancaster County General District Court for failing to appear, on an original charge of shoplifting.

A Reedville man, 22, was charged April 12 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Lancaster County General District Court for failing to appear on original charges of driving suspended and leaving the scene of an accident.

A Heathsville man, 49, was charged April 13 with reckless driving.
