Sheriffs’ Reports 04-21-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felonies

Torrence Dowayne Drake Jr., 22, of White Stone was charged April 11 with failure to appear in court on a felony offense; stalking, cause reasonable fear of death and/or assault; annoying ringing of a phone without the intent to converse; and assault and battery of a family member.

Katherine Alexandra Turner, 33, of Towson, Md., was charged April 12 with assault on a law enforcement officer; abusive language to another; appearing intoxicated in public; disorderly conduct; and obstruct/resist a law enforcement officer in the performance of his/her duties.

Misdemeanor

A Lancaster man, 58, was charged April 17 with driving while intoxicated; refusing to submit to a blood or breath test after being arrested for driving while intoxicated; and appearing intoxicated in public.

Activity Report

April 11: Staff responded to the 200 block of Wiggins Avenue for suspicious activity, to the 100 block of Harris Road to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a person with an altered mental status, to the 100 block of New South Road to assist KPD with a burglary in progress, and to the 500 block of Pinckardsville Road for a trespasser.

April 12: Staff responded to Peirces Road for farm animals in the roadway, to the 100 block Morattico Road to assist Social Services with a welfare check, to the 100 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Flats Lane for suspicious activity, and to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive for an intoxicated and disorderly person.

April 13: Staff responded to the 500 block of Lara Road for a civil issue involving domestic animals, to the 100 block of South Main Street for fraud involving a checking account, to a walk-in report of larceny and trespassing that occurred at the 300 block of Callis Road, to the 4300 block of Windmill Point Road for power lines down near the roadway, to Goodluck and Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash. to the 1300 block of Old Salem Road for a stolen or lost Smith & Wesson semi auto .380 pistol, and to Mary Ball Road between Lancaster and Kilmarnock for a reckless driver.

April 14: Staff responded Mantua and Devils Bottom roads for an abandoned vehicle partially in the roadway, to the 3500 block of Weems Road for a vehicle parked in the roadway, to a walk-in report of a stolen domestic animal, and to Old Salem Road for a tree down in the roadway.

April 15: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 1200 block of Morattico Road to assist emergency medical services with entry into a residence, to Goodluck and Mary Ball roads for a disabled vehicle, and to the 1400 block of Shore Drive for a wanted person.

April 16: Staff responded to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for shots fired from a vehicle in the early morning hours, to the 800 block of Rappahannock Drive for credit card fraud, to the 100 block of Yorkshire Street for vandalism, to the report of threats to harm another that occurred at the 100 block of Meadowlark Lane, and to the 500 block of South Main Street to assist KPD with a domestic disturbance.

April 17: Staff responded to the 500 block of Devils Bottom Road for a burn ban violation, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to a walk-in report of the possible sighting of two wanted men headed east on Mary Ball Road, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a trespasser, to the 100 block of Buttercup Lane for suspicious activity, and to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road for an assault involving alcohol.

Staff also conducted 32 traffic stops, issued 26 summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled nine calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 54 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded four calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a lift assistance request on Crystal lane and a brush fire on Field Trial Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a domestic animal in distress on Windmill Point Road and with Kilmarnock VFD to a tree down on Old Salem Road.

Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a traffic crash at Shiloh School and Apple Grove roads and a fire/smoke alarm on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.
