Sheriffs’ Reports 04-24-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against two individuals.

Felonies

Kyle Lee George Jr., 21, of White Stone, was charged April 14 with grand larceny.

Phillip Arnold George, 62, of White Stone, was charged April 18 with intentionally destroying, defacing or damaging property with the value of or damage to such property being $1000 or more.

Activity report

April 14: Staff responded to Irvington Road and Jenkins Drive for debris in the highway, to the 1400 block of Avis Trail for an adult welfare check, and to the 200 block of Thomas Landing Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

April 15: Staff responded to the 18000 block of Mary Ball Road for a traffic complaint, to the 2000 block of Windmill Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 90 block of Punches Cove Road for trespassing, to the 200 block of Sandlin Drive for a traffic complaint, to the 200 block of Lowery Creek Road for a juvenile complaint, to the 300 block of Irvington Road for suspicious activity, and to White Chapel Road for a road hazard.

April 16: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Harris roads for a disabled vehicle, to the 10000 block of Mary Ball Road for a larceny, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, and to the 100 block of Dawson Avenue for a neighbor dispute.

April 17: Staff responded to the 100 block of Sullavans Road for a noise complaint, to the 100 block of Shady Lane for a traffic hazard, and to Town Park Drive for a suspicious vehicle.

April 18: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Morattico Road for a disabled vehicle, and to the 8000 block of River Road for threats.

April 19: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Chases roads for a suspicious person, to the 300 block of Rio Vista for a downed tree, and to the 600 block of Chestnut Grove Lane for trespassing.

April 20: Staff responded to the 700 block of Chesapeake Drive for legal advice, and to East Church Street for a reckless driver.

Staff also conducted 59 traffic stops, issued 64 summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled two requests for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged an inmate transport, received two E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone and Kilmarnock volunteer fire departments responded to a brush/woods fire at 3554 Windmill Point Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a fire alarm at 374 Leetown Road and a brush fire at 773 Hoecake Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 14 individuals.

Felonies

Levaughn Laffiama Seldon, 37, of Heathsville was charged April 7 in Northumberland County for possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon and two misdemeanor charges of pointing/brandishing a firearm. Lancaster County assisted in serving the warrants.

Derrick Juan Eduardo Reed, 46, of Heathsville was charged April 11 with breaking and entering a dwelling with the intent to commit larceny, and trespassing after being forbidden to do so.

Dayla Grace Reed, 22, of Heathsville was charged April 11 with two counts of assault on a law-enforcement officer, and breaking into a dwelling during the day with intent to commit larceny. She also was charged with trespassing after being forbidden to do so and obstruction of justice.

Loretta Ratkus, 73, of Kilmarnock was charged April 15 with a felony bad check.

Joshua Adam Morris, no age or residence given, was charged April 15, on a Northumberland County warrant for endangering a child while in his custody. Westmoreland County assisted in serving the warrant.

Lakeena Onay Noel, 24, of Virginia Beach was charged April 16 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for three counts of violating probation. Virginia Beach Police Department assisted in serving the capias.

Shemeke Shavon Ball, 32, of Heathsville was charged April 16 with abuse/neglect of a child/reckless disregard. She also was charged with driving under the influence, second offense within five years, driving a vehicle with ignition lock and transporting a child without a restraint device.

Jennie Lee Lansberry, 38, of Heathsville was charged April 16 with felony unauthorized use of a vehicle, valued at $1000 or more.

Kevin Mashone Kelly, 52, of Callao was charged April 18 with assault and battery of a family member, third plus offense.

Desmond Lamar Lee, 32, of Farnham was charged April 18 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for six counts of distribution/selling for profit a Schedule I/II drug.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 20, was charged April 10 with assault and battery of a minor.

A Callao man, 51, was charged April 16 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Fredericksburg man, 68, was charged April 18 with threatening an illegal/immoral act over the phone. Stafford County Sheriff’s Office assisted with serving the warrant.

A man, no address given, 22, was charged April 19 with an assault and battery summons on a family member.
