Sheriffs’ Reports 07-09-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against three individuals.

A Weems man, 51, was charged June 30 with a probation violation.

A White Stone man, 33, was charged July 1 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

A Hampton man, 32, was charged July 1with disorderly conduct.

Activity report

June 29: Staff responded to the 18600 block of Mary Ball Road for a possible burglary, to Rappahannock Drive in White Stone for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Willow Hill Road for a trespasser, and to the 300 block of East Church Street for a verbal disagreement.

June 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Rose Drive for a juvenile behavior issue, to the 10800 block of River Road for an unattended death, to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred on Washington Street, to Wesley Terrace for a noise violation from loud music, to Mary Ball and White Chapel roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic disturbance and vandalism.

July 1: Staff responded to the 5100 block of Windmill Point Road for a possible suicidal person, to the 12200 block of Mary Ball Road a fight in progress involving several people, to the 12200 block of Mary Ball Road for a trespasser, to the 700 block of Rappahannock Drive for two trespassers, to the 200 block of Larkspur Lane to check the welfare of the residents after being alerted by a family member, to the 100 block of Shady Lane for a person with mental issues, to the 12200 block of Mary Ball Road for a disorderly person, to the 19200 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person, to the 300 block of East Church Street for a domestic disturbance, and to the 400 block of Gaskins Road for an alleged sexual assault.

July 2: Staff responded to the 100 block of High Bank Road for suspicious activity, to Mary Ball and Chases roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace for a disorderly person, and to the 100 block of Windjammer Lane for the report of two disorderly people involving alcohol.

July 3: Staff responded to the 100 block of The Pony Pasture for trespassers, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge and Rappahannock Drive for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of School Street to assist KPD with a child custody issue, and to the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive for a noise violation from loud music.

July 4: Staff responded to the 200 block of Kathy Drive for a burglary and larceny, to the 200 block of Irvington Road to assist KPD with a fight in progress, and to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive to assist Virginia State Police with a traffic stop.

July 5: Staff responded to the 300 block of Old Orchard Drive for a trespasser, and to Yankee Point Road for threats made toward another.

Staff also conducted four traffic stops, issued a summons, assisted four motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, investigated six building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received 47 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock and White Stone volunteer fire departments responded to a smoke in the residence call on Goodluck Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD also responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Lawrence Cove Lane.

The White Stone VFD also responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road and a fire/smoke alarm on Lancaster Drive.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a smell of smoke in the residence call on Clover Lane and to a fire/smoke alarm on Woodbrook Drive.

EMS calls

For June 28-July 4, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 29 calls, including 21 medical emergencies, three injuries, a traffic accident, two fires and two other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Charles Lee Dodson Jr, 55, of Heathsville was charged June 23 with three felony counts of violating a protective order, third offense within 20 years.

Robert Owen Peele Jr., 55, of Heathsville was charged June 24 with felony hit and run and obtaining money by false pretenses. He also was charged with misdemeanor stalking.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 58, was charged June 24 with possession of marijuana, second offense.

A Callao man, 58, was charged June 26 on a capias issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing his pretrial services by having a positive drug screen and new drug charge.

A Burgess man, 38, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was charged with a summons for speeding, expired rejection sticker, driving revoked and failing to wear a seatbelt.

A Heathsville man, 21, was charged July 5 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Lottsburg man, 49, was charged July 6 with giving a false report to law enforcement.
