Sheriffs’ Reports 07-23-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felony

Antonio Cornell Conaway, 46, of Lancaster, was charged July 15 with breaking and entering in the nighttime a dwelling house with intent to commit assault and battery.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster man, 23, was charged July 14 with two counts of probation violation on misdemeanor offenses.

A Heathsville man, 54, was charged July 15 with a protective order violation.

Activity report

July 13: Staff responded to the 100 block of Morattico Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a reckless driver, and to the 11000 block of River Road for a verbal disagreement and vandalism.

July 14: Staff responded to the 1600 block of Belle Isle Road for a missing person with unknown medical conditions, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic assault, and to a walk-in report of a violation of a protective order that occurred in the 300 block of Twin Branch Road.

July 15: Staff responded to the 100 block of First Street for an abandoned vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for the report of a suicidal person, and to the 1300 block of Irvington Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash that resulted in a fatality.

July 16: Staff responded to the 300 block of Chesapeake Drive for an unattended death, to the 200 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for a possible burglary, to Boys Camp Road for gunshots, and to the 100 block of Dawson Lane for a suspicious vehicle.

July 17: Staff responded to the 3800 block of Mary Ball Road for juvenile misbehavior, to the 600 block of Western Branch Road for a missing sailboat, to the 100 block of Irvington Road for a domestic disturbance possibly involving weapons, and to the 400 block of Churchill Circle for power lines down in the roadway.

July 18: Staff responded to the 600 block of Beach Road for gunshots, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road for gunshots, and to Lancaster Shores for a reckless driver.

July 19: Staff responded to trespassers in the 100 block of Broadway, and to Lancaster Shores for a reckless driver.

Staff also conducted two traffic stops, issued two summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled a call for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged two inmate transports, received 27 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Irvington Road and with White Stone VFD to a fire/smoke alarm on Cedar Pointe Drive.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Browns Store Road.

EMS calls

For July 12-18, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 36 calls, including 21 medical emergencies, four injuries, five traffic accidents and six other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

Jason Owen Denton, 36, of Callao was charged July 12 with felony manufacturing marijuana. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Megan Elizabeth Ferrell, 22, of King George was charged July 14 on a Direct Indictment issued by the Richmond County Circuit Court for delivering drugs to a prisoner. The Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) made the arrest.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man, 32, was charged July 16 with assault and battery of a family member and damaging property.

A White Stone man, 21, was charged July 16 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear in their court after signing a summons to appear.

A Lottsburg man, 38, was charged July 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense.

A Callao man, 37, was charged July 18 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Hanover County General District Court for failing to appear in their court. NCSO made the arrest.

A Callao woman, 34, was charged July 18 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Hanover County General District Court for failing to appear in their court. NCSO made the arrest.

A Heathsville man, 21, was charged July 19 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court on an original charge of driving while suspended.
