Sheriffs’ Reports 08-03-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against three individuals.

Felony

Stacy Lee Boyd, 39, of Lancaster was charged July 26 with unlawfully and feloniously, while being a person responsible for the care of a vulnerable adult, commit a willful act or omission in the care of such adult so gross and wanton as to cause death.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 24, was charged July 24 with assault.

A Weems man, 31, was charged July 26 with assault and without authority, trespass or remain on the property, after having been forbidden to do so.

July 24: Staff responded to the area of River Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a power pole, to Mary Ball and White Chapel roads to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with a DUI traffic stop, responded to the 700 block of Corrotoman Drive for the report of single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Roseneath Avenue to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with the investigation of a sudden death, to the 200 block of Pond Park Road for the report of verbal dispute over child custody, to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for threats made to harm another that involved a weapon, and responded to the 100 block of Morattico Road for the report of a verbal dispute over child custody.

July 25: Staff responded to the 100 block of Morattico Road for vandalism and a verbal dispute, to the 300 block of Old Point Road for suspicious activity, to the 700 block of River Road for a downed tree in the roadway, to the 1500 block of Coxs Farm Road for forged checks and obtaining funds by false pretense, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a three-vehicle traffic crash, to the 2100 block of Morattico Road for a wanted person, to the 100 block of Morattico Road for a trespasser, and to the 2300 block of Merry Point Road for a verbal dispute.

July 26: Staff responded to the 300 block of Methodist Church Road for a suspicious activity, to the 500 block of Creekwater Drive for a sudden death, and to the 1300 block of Riverwood Drive for a trespasser.

July 27: Staff responded to the 100 block of Whisk Drive for a suspicious vehicle, to the Norris Bridge for a board with nails in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road for the report of vandalism, to the 100 block of Morattico Road for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, to the 1700 block of Taylors Creek Road for the report of threats made to harm another, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity, and to the 400 block of Greentown Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol.

July 28: Staff responded to Rose Lane and Sandlin Drive for power lines down in the roadway, and to the 4200 block of Lara Road for an abandoned vehicle.

July 29: Staff responded to the the 300 block of Tammy Drive for an intoxicated juvenile, to the 100 block of Harris Road to assist emergency medical services with a medical emergency, to the 1300 block of Riverwood Drive for a suicidal person, to the 1300 block of Old Salem Road for a vehicle blocking the driveway, to the 100 block of Benson Road for a civil issue, to Windmill Point Road for a possible intoxicated driver, and to the 700 block of Fleets Bay Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash versus a mailbox.

July 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Carefree Lane to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a person with an altered mental status; to the 200 block of Wishing Well Lane for the report of a domestic disturbance; and responded to the area of Weems Road for the report of a reckless driver.

Staff also conducted five traffic stops, issued a summons, assisted five motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, investigated two building alarms, received 34 E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on River Road, a fire/smoke alarm on Myer Creek Road and a lift assistance request on River Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on King Carter Drive, power lines down on Sandlin Drive, a weather-related call on Weems Road and a traffic crash on Weems Road.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a deer strike accident on Primary School Circle.
