Sheriffs’ reports 08-05-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported felony charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Kentel Devante Noel, 29, of Weems was charged July 30 with distribute/selling for profit a Schedule I or II drug and selling/providing for resale a Schedule I or II drug.

Clayton Daniel Wingfield, 30, of Wake was charged August 1 with knowingly possessing or transporting ammunition for a firearm after having been convicted of a felony; failing to stop for law enforcement after having received a visible or audible signal to do so while driving in excess of 20 mph over the speed limit; knowingly possessing or transporting a firearm after having been convicted of a violent felony; driving a motor vehicle while the license to drive has been suspended or revoked; failing to enroll in pretrial services; failing to appear on a charge of failing to appear on a driving revoked offense; contempt of court-failure to appear; and a probation violation on a felony offense and three traffic infraction charges.

Misdemeanors

A Lancaster woman, 43, was charged July 28 with assault.

A Lancaster man, 52, was charged July 23 with two counts of violating a protective order.

A Lancaster man, 42, was charged July 30 with probation violation on a felony offense.

Activity report

July 26: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 4400 block of Windmill Point Road for credit card fraud/theft, to Black Stump Road for a truck blocking one lane of traffic, and to the 400 block of Devils Bottom Road for trespassers.

July 27: Staff responded to the 500 block of Beach Road for a trespasser, to the 200 block of James Lane for vandalism and littering, to the 2600 block of Windmill Point Road for a possible burglary, and to the 300 block of Akins Lane for threats to burn/bomb the residence of the complainant.

July 28: Staff responded to a walk-in report of stolen jewelry, and to a walk-in report of an assault.

July 29: Staff responded to the 300 block of Akins Lane for a suspicious person, to the 100 block of Edgewood Lane for illegal burning, to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Ditchley Road for an abandoned vehicle, and to the 4000 block of Black Stump Road for an abandoned vehicle on private property.

July 30: Staff responded to the 100 block of Carter Lane for a sudden death, to the 1800 block of Morattico Road for a domestic dispute, and to Beach Road and Chesapeake Drive for a noise violation from loud music.

July 31: Staff responded to the 100 block of Joyful Way for threats made to harm or kill another, to the 1600 block of Browns Store Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 500 block of Mosquito Point Road for a larceny from within a residence, to Shamrock Court for a vehicle/foot pursuit by law enforcement, and to the 100 block of Harris Road for a felonious assault with serious injuries.

August 1: Staff responded to the 500 block of Southport Lane for a domestic dispute, to the 100 block of Gemini Road for a trespasser, to the 100 block of Hatton Avenue for a juvenile behavior issue, to the 600 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with two reckless drivers, and to the 100 block of Gemini Road for a disorderly trespasser.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued six summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a call for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, logged four inmate transports, received 16 E911 hang-up calls and fielded four requests for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a chemical smell on Lancaster Drive, a lift assistance request o Wiggins Avenue, a traffic crash on Balls Neck Road, a structure collapse on North Main Street and with White Stone VFD to a commercial fire alarm on North Main Street.

White Stone VFD also responded to downed power lines on Windmill Point Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 10 individuals.

Felonies

Donte Steffon Sutton, 24, of Lancaster was charged July 25 with felony hit and run with more than $1,000 damage. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Virginia State Police.

Channel Oenise Brooks, 53, of Callao was charged July 27 with eight counts of embezzlement. She also was charged July 28 with two counts of identity theft with intent to defraud. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Kentel Devante Noel, 29, of Heathsville was charged July 30 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for selling/distributing a Schedule I or II drug. This was served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert Coley Lawson, 20, of Callao was charged August 1 on a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court. This was served by the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office.

Kristi Lynn Noel, 38, of Reedville was charged August 1 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for accessory after the fact in a felony.

Misdemeanors

A Lottsburg man, 59, was charged July 20 with violating an emergency protective order.

A Heathsville woman, 29, was charged July 22 with two counts of animal cruelty and two summonses also were issued for no license/tags.

A Reedville man, 21, was charged July 23 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Essex County General District Court for failing to appear in their court on an original charge of carrying a concealed weapon.

A Yorktown woman, 58, was charged July 25 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and reckless driving.

A Burgess man, 45, was charged August 1 with a summons for causing the telephone to ring and annoy another person. This was a Lancaster County summons served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
