Sheriffs’ Reports 08-10-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Jerrick Deion Saunders, 30, of Lancaster was charged August 7 with making and communicating a threat to bomb, burn, destroy or damage a place of assembly, building or other structure, or a means of transportation, and probation violation on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 35, was charged July 31 with disorderly conduct, and obstructing/resisting arrest without force.

A Heathsville man, 42, was charged August 6 with failure to appear in court.

A Lancaster woman, 37, was charged August 7 with assault, intentionally destroying property valued at less than $1,000, and destroying a telephone or material, or property with the intent to prevent a person from summoning law enforcement, fire or rescue services.

Activity report

July 31: Staff responded to the 400 block of Campbell Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Castle Lane to check the welfare of a resident, to the 11500 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic dispute, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a pedestrian walking on the bridge, to the 200 block of Cherry Point Drive for the unauthorized use of a vehicle, and to the 100 block of Summers Lane for a wanted person.

August 1: Staff responded to Lara and Miskimon roads for a hit and run traffic crash, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a person with mental issues, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a reckless driver.

August 2: Staff responded to the 18700 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, to the 600 block of McSwain Road to assist emergency medical services with a fall victim, to the 200 block of Irvington Road to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with an intoxicated person, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way for a stolen wallet, and to the 100 block of Levelfields Lane for a domestic disturbance.

August 3: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for debris in the roadway, to the 5100 block of Mary Ball Road for a trespasser, and to the 100 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist KPD with a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

August 4: Staff responded to Christ Church and Weems roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of juveniles, to the 300 block of Fleets Bay Road for shooting, and to the 8700 block of Mary Ball Road for threats made to harm another.

August 5: Staff responded to the 11600 block of Courthouse Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 200 block of Old Fairgrounds Way to assist KPD with a verbal dispute, to the 5500 block of Morattico Road for illegal dumping, to Wishing Well Lane for a domestic disturbance, to the 3100 block of Windmill Point Road for a suspicious vehicle, to Mary Ball and Clark roads for a reckless driver, and to the 1600 block of Rocky Neck Road for several loud explosions.

August 6: Staff responded to the 900 block of Monaskon Road for vandalism to a building, to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads to assist Virginia State Police with a traffic stop, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a person with an altered mental status, to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for threats made to harm another, and to the 1300 block of Old Salem Road for a civil issue between a renter and the property owner.

Staff also conducted 18 traffic stops, issued 12 summonses, assisted seven motorists, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated a building alarm, logged an inmate transport, received 30 E911 hang up calls, and fielded seven calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to Old Orchard, Morattico and River roads for lift assistance, and to Mary Ball Road for an electrical fire.

White Stone VFD responded to Christ Church Road for a traffic crash.

Kilmarnock VFD responded to Shawnee Road for a transformer fire and to East Cove for a carbon monoxide alarm.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 11 individuals.

Felonies

Ryan Lynn Dotson, 31, of Richmond was charged July 14 with a capias to show cause issued by the Stafford County Circuit Court for violating the terms of his suspended sentence on charges of grand larceny, PWID control substance and failing to appear.

Amir Rasoul, 71, of Heathsville was charged July 27 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for altering/forging a certificate of title/registration, identity theft, causing financial loss and obtaining money by false pretenses.

Sharnon Eric Joseph, 43, of Reedville was charged August 1 with abduction, rape by force and sexual battery. He also was charged with being drunk in public.

Riley Hudson Sanford, 27, of Farnham was charged August 2 on a capias to show cause for failing to report for random drug testing, having prior violations.

Terry Maurice Gordon, 42, of Warsaw was charged August 3 with a PB-1S for violating conditions of his probation.

Ernest Eugene Adams, 46, of Lancaster was charged August 4 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for two counts of distribution/selling for profit, a Schedule I/II drug. He was arrested by Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Joann Harris Blackwell, 71, of Reedville was charged August 4 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for fraudulent use of lottery money.

Robert Preston McKenney, 66, of Westmoreland was charged August 5 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for felony bad checks. Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest.

Misdemeanors

An Onemo man, 21, was charged July 27 with violating a protective order. This was a Northumberland County charge served by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

A King William man, 28, was charged August 1 with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear. He was charged by the King William County Sheriff’s Office.

A Burgess man, 24, was charged August 4 with assault and battery.
