Sheriffs’ Reports 08-14-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

Felicia Suzzette Owens, 32, of Heathsville was charged August 7 with two counts of aggravated malicious wounding, abuse/neglect of a child, and two counts of assault and battery of a family or household member (misdemeanors).

Misdemeanors

A White Stone woman, 49, was charged August 5 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A White Stone man, 35, was charged August 6 with willfully or maliciously preventing, obstructing or delaying the sending, conveyance or delivery of a wireless transmission device with the intent to prevent another person from summoning law enforcement, fire or rescue services, and intentionally destroying, defacing or damaging a cell phone with the value of or damage to such property being less than $1000.

A White Stone man, 37, was charged August 6 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated.

A Lancaster man, 70, was charged August 7 with assault and battery.

A Lancaster man, 65, was charged August 8 with non-compliance with Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program on the underlying charge of driving while intoxicated, second offense within five years.

A Lancaster woman, 65, was charged August 9 with assault and battery.

A Lancaster man, 31, was charged August 10 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, and reckless driving by driving a motor vehicle on the highway at a speed of 20 mph or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed limit.

Activity report

August 4: Staff responded to Irvington and Old Salem roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 30 block of Split Oak Lane for an adult welfare check, to Old Orchard Drive and Colinbrook Way for destruction of property, to the 400 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for illegal dumping, to the 8000 block of River Road for destruction of property, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle.

August 5: Staff responded to Mary Ball and River roads for a disabled vehicle, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to Little Bay and Scott roads for a disabled vehicle, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, to Peach Tree Lane for a domestic disturbance, and to Mary Ball and Harris roads for a reckless driver.

August 6: Staff responded to the 3000 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1600 block of Weems Road for a juvenile complaint, and to the 70 block of Rose Drive for a civil complaint.

August 7: Staff responded to Courthouse and White Chapel roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1700 block of Mary Ball Road for a vehicle versus a bicyclist crash, to the 40 block of Bridge Pointe Court for an adult welfare check, to the 400 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for an adult welfare check, to Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for a disabled vehicle, and to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road for a stabbing involving two victims.

August 8: Staff responded to Weems Road and Cedar Pointe Drive for a reckless driver, to the 5000 block of Irvington Road for a suspicious person, and to the 2000 block of Taylors Creek Road for the report of gunshots in the late evening hours.

August 9: Staff responded to the 500 block of Pinckardsville Road for a traffic complaint, to the 200 block of Lowery Creek Road for a juvenile complaint, to Corrotoman Drive for gunshots in the late evening hours, to the 300 block of Akins Lane for an assault, and to the 200 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for trespassing.

August 10: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for legal advice, and to the 10 block of Sand Island Lane for legal advice.

Staff also conducted 14 traffic stops, issued 10 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded four deer strike accidents, handled a request for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received six E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash at Irvington and Old Salem roads, a vehicle versus bicyclist at 17485 Mary Ball Road, and a fire alarm at 463 North Main Street.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at 3734 Mary Ball Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a brush fire at 31 Shoreline Drive.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

Kevin Mashon Kelly, 51, of Callao was charged July 28 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for an original charge of abduction by force and intimidation.

Andrew Wade YoHo, 42, of Powhatan was charged July 29 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a probation violation involving additional charges while on probation. He was served by the Powhatan County Sheriff’s Office.

Misdemeanors

A Callao woman, 35, was charged July 28 with assault on a family member.

A West Virginia man, 19, was charged August 1 with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A Burgess man, 38, was charged August 3 with being drunk in public.

A Kinsale woman, 32, was charged August 8 with petit larceny.

A Burgess man, 38, was charged August 10 with assault and battery.
