Sheriffs’ Reports 08-19-21

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Tony Dwayne Banks Jr., 29, of White Stone was charged August 12 with two counts of distributing/selling for profit a Schedule I or II narcotic; abuse/neglect of a child, reckless disregard for life; and contempt of court, failure to appear.

Misdemeanors

A Weems woman, 38, was charged August 9 with three counts of probation violation on two misdemeanor offenses and a felony offense.

A Lancaster woman, 64, was charged August 11 with two counts of permitting owned livestock to roam at large and six counts of allowing animals to run at large on the highway.

A Lancaster woman, 34, was charged August 13 with assault.

A White Stone man, 66, was charged August 14 with indecent exposure.

Activity report

August 9: Staff responded to the 600 block of Alphonso Road for threats made to harm another, to the 800 block of Belmont Creek Road for a suspicious person, to the 300 block of Weems Road for a sudden death, and to the 6900 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

August 10: Staff responded to Old Salem and Irvington roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 300 block of Pine Trail to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a verbal disturbance, to the 400 block of Christ Church Road for a trespasser, to the 300 block of Gaskins Road for illegal activity, to the 11400 block of Courthouse Road for a downed tree in the roadway, and to the 200 block of Breezy Point for a domestic assault.

August 11: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 1400 block of Windmill Point Road for a truck stopped in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, and to the 500 block of North Main Street for a hit and run traffic crash that occurred on Campbell Road.

August 12: Staff responded to the 2800 block of Mary Ball Road for an overturned single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Beach Cove Drive for the theft of a mailbox, to the 500 block of Rappahannock Drive to assist emergency medical services with a serious medical condition, to the 100 block of Irvington Road for a bomb threat, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive for a verbal disagreement.

August 13: Staff responded to the 1800 block of Windmill Point Road for suspicious activity and animal abuse, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a domestic assault, to the 3200 block of Irvington Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 1700 block of Goodluck Road for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to a walk-in report of violating a protective order that occurred at the 500 block of Southport Lane.

August 14: Staff responded to the 20400 block of Mary Ball Road for a burglary in progress, to the 100 block of Alphonso Road for several gunshots in the early morning hours, to the 500 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a domestic assault, to the 1400 block of Shore Drive to check the welfare of a resident, to the 100 block of Windjammer Lane for a stolen cooler, to the 3200 block of Irvington Road for a verbal disagreement, to the 100 block of Windjammer Lane for indecent exposure, to the 200 block of Henrys Creek Lane to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a missing dementia patient, to the 19200 block of Mary Ball Road for a stolen tow hitch, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Willow Hill Road for shooting in the area, to River and Nuttsville roads for a tree in the roadway, and to the 400 block of Buzzards Neck Road for a domestic disturbance.

August 15: Staff responded to the 100 block of Hoecake Road for a trespasser, to Irvington and Glebe roads for a bicyclist nearly being hit by a vehicle, to the 400 block of North Main Street to assist KPD with a verbal disagreement, and to the 1800 block of Rocky Neck Road to check the welfare of a resident.

Staff also conducted five traffic stops, assisted nine motorists, handled a call for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, received 14 E911 hang-up calls and fielded two requests for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and the smell of smoke in a commercial building on Jessie duPont Memorial Highway.

White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash at Old Salem and Irvington roads, a brush fire on Cherry Point Drive, an emergency medical services assistance request on Rappahannock Drive and a fire/smoke alarm on Irvington Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against eight individuals.

Felonies

Jahmekah Danielle Nickens, 22, of Weems was charged August 3 with communicating threatening statements in writing. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Demar Antonio Davenport, 31, of Heathsville was charged August 6 on a direct Indictment issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for nine counts of extortion in writing. He was arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Anthony A. Presnell, 51, of Heathsville was charged August 6 with possession of a firearm after being declared a felon. He also was charged with possession of ammunition. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the Kilmarnock Police Department.

Jennifer Lind Creeth, 49, of Reedville was charged August 13 with malicious wounding.

Laumiya Lynae Stewart, 19, of Woodbridge was charged August 14 with threatening communication.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville woman, 61 was charged July 31 with assault.

A Heathsville man, 32, was charged August 6 with attempting to flee from a law enforcement officer.

A Kilmarnock man, 33, was charged August 10 with criminal trespassing after being forbidden to do so and damaging property.
