Sheriffs’ Reports 08-24-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Mitrada Donata Bunns, 42, of Heathsville was charged August 18 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

Michael Deandre Williams, 28, of Weems was charged August 18 with failure to appear in court on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Disputanta woman, 44, was charged August 18 with failure to appear in court on a misdemeanor offense.

A King George woman, 40, was charged August 18 with driving while under the influence of alcohol, second offense within 10 years; after having been arrested for DUI, refusing to have a sample of breath taken for a chemical test; and while being the driver of a vehicle on a roadway proceeding at less than the normal speed of traffic, failed to drive in the lane nearest the right edge or right curb of the highway.

Activity report

August 14: Staff responded to the 200 block of Cedar Pointe Drive for a sudden death, to the 100 block of Mount Jean North for obtaining funds under false pretense, to Mary Ball Road in Lively for a reckless driver, to the 1600 block of Rocky Neck Road for a missing adult male, and to Beach Road for gunshots in the late evening hours.

August 15: Staff responded to the 200 block of Greenwood Court for a domestic disturbance, to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway and Ditchley Road to check the welfare of a female pedestrian, and to the 100 block of Robinson Road for vandalism and a verbal dispute.

August 16: Staff responded to a walk-in report of funds obtained by false pretense that occurred at the 1600 block of James Wharf Road, to the 1200 block of Ocran Road for the report of a possible suicidal person, to the 500 block of North Main Street for an embezzlement, and to the 100 block of Entertainment Drive for a trespasser.

August 17: Staff responded to the 300 block of Bells Creek Lane for construction fraud, to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another through social media, to the 300 block of North Main Street to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a disorderly person, to Campbell Road for a reckless driver, and to the 5200 block of Mary Ball Road for a narcotics overdose.

August 18: Staff responded to Mary Ball and White Chapel roads for a downed tree in the roadway, to the 200 block of Wishing Well Lane for a wanted person, to Mary Ball and Old Orchard roads for a reckless driver, to the 4500 block of Windmill Point Road for a stalker, to the 2000 block of Mosquito Point Road for fraud and grand larceny, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for threats made to harm another, and to the 900 block of James Wharf Road for gunshots in the evening hours.

August 19: Staff responded to the 4000 Block of Irvington Road for debris in the highway, to the 100 block of Chestnut Point Road for a child custody dispute, to the 2000 block of Morattico Road for threats to harm another, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a person with altered mental status, to the 500 block of White Chapel Road for destruction of property, and to the 18000 block of Northumberland Highway to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with shots fired, several individuals shot.

August 20: Staff responded to the 2700 block of Irvington Road for a person with an altered mental status, to Mary Ball and River roads for a reckless driver, to the 100 block of Turner Lane to check the welfare of a juvenile, to the 100 block of Cherry Hill Road for a domestic assault, and to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity.

Staff also conducted 19 traffic stops, issued nine summonses, assisted six motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 20 E911 hang up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Ocran Road, a traffic crash on Mary Ball Road, a fire/smoke alarm on Windfall Lane, with Kilmarnock VFD to a boat fire on Windmill Point Road and with Kilmarnock VFD and Upper Lancaster VFD to a structure fire on Laurel Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Travis Trane Hatton, 35, of Farnham was charged August 18 with grand larceny and operating as a contractor without a license.

Jazmin Marie Shipp, 26, of Callao was charged August 21 with malicious wounding.

Misdemeanors

A Reedville man, 35, was charged August 14 with violating pretrial bail and or conditions. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

A Heathsville man, 35, was charged August 18 with obstruction of justice.

A Callao woman, 20, was charged August 19 with assault and battery of a family member.
