Sheriffs’ Reports 08-27-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felony

Brittany Sharayne Levere, 29, of Lancaster was charged August 17 with possession with intent to sell or distribute more than one ounce, but less than five pounds of marijuana, and accessory after the fact in a felony.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 34, was charged August 17 with disorderly conduct.

A Kilmarnock woman, 35, was charged August 19 with contempt of court, failure to appear.

An Urbanna man, 21, was charged August 23 with failure to report a vehicle accident where there was property damage over $500.

Activity report

August 17: Staff responded to the 16600 block of Mary Ball Road for trespassers, to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for a disorderly person, to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road for an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Twin Branch Road for a disorderly person, and to the 10600 block of Mary Ball Road for a domestic assault.

August 18: Staff responded to Devils Bottom Road for illegal dumping, to the 100 block of Churchfields Lane to assist emergency services (EMS) with a medical call, to the area of Beechwood Drive for an abandoned vehicle blocking the roadway, to the 100 block of Wiggins Avenue to assist EMS with entry into a residence, to Main Street and Irvington Road to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 300 block of Callis Road for a verbal disagreement over a land use issue, and to the 100 block of Roseneath Avenue for a possible suicidal person.

August 19: Staff responded to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another in the 8100 block of Mary Ball Road, to Mary Ball and Regina roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 500 block of Lancaster Creek Drive for vandalism.

August 20: Staff responded to a walk-in report for a violation of a protective order, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for trespassers, to the 1200 block of Morattico Road for damage of a brick column, to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another that occurred in the 13200 block of River Road.

August 21: Staff responded to Yankee Point Road for a female in distress, to the 700 block of Belmont Drive for larceny of a wallet and contents, to Bertrand Place for trespassers, to Pinckardsville Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash and the driver left the scene, to the 100 block of Oak Hill Road to check the welfare of the resident after being alerted by a relative, and to the 3700 block of Merry Point Road for a possible suicidal person.

August 22: Staff responded to the 4400 block of Irvington Road for a disorderly person, and to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a dump truck blocking one lane of the roadway.

August 23: Staff responded to the 100 block of Ice House Drive for a domestic assault, to the 90 block of Belmont Drive for vandalism and attempted larceny, to the 100 block of Youcomico Drive for trespassers, to the 100 block of Edgewood Lane for a noise violation from loud music, to the 500 block of Paynes Creek Road for a domestic assault and a possible suicidal person, and to the 100 block of Hills Lane for trespassers.

Staff also conducted 14 traffic stops, issued two summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded a deer strike accident, handled two calls for traffic control, investigated seven building alarms, processed two mental health orders, logged seven inmate transports, received 29 E911 hang-up calls, and handled three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Main Street and an emergency services assistance request on Wiggins Avenue.

White Stone VFD responded to a boat fire on Windjammer Lane.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at Mary Ball and Regina roads.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

Ursula Charmaine Walters, 51, of Heathsville was charged August 10 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for three felony charges of sell/possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, namely a Schedule ll drug, being her second offense.

Robert V. Campbell, a/k/a Robert Curry, 58, of Warsaw was charged August 11 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for seven felony counts of use of a communications system to proposition a child under age.

Lakeya Monae Thornton, 35, of Burgess was charged August 14 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for two felony counts of feloniously sell/distribute a controlled substance, namely a Schedule I or II drug. She was served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.  She also was charged with two counts of malicious bodily injury and a summons for failing to stop at a stop sign.

Misdemeanors

An Alexandria man, 57, was charged August 13 with being drunk in public.

A Reedville woman, 40, was charged August 17 with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of certificate of title issued to another, and driving without a license. She also was charged on a summons for operating an unregistered vehicle, violating limitations for a farm use vehicle, operating an uninsured vehicle and no inspection sticker.

A Portsmouth man, 26, was charged on a capias/attachment of the body issued from the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court for failing to appear in their court. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Virginia State Police.

A Reedville man, 26, was charged August 20 with driving under the influence of alcohol, refusal of the breath test, second-plus offense and carrying a concealed weapon without a permit. He also was charged with speeding.
