Sheriffs’ Reports 08-28-25

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against five individuals.

An Urbanna man, 32, was charged August 19 with destruction of property.

A Lancaster man, 34, was charged August 20 with destruction of property.

A Topping man, 39, was charged August 21 with driving a motor vehicle while intoxicated, and refusal to submit breath or blood for a chemical test.

A White Stone man, 67, was charged August 22 with assault and battery.

A Disputanta man, 68, was charged August 24 with two counts of assault and battery of a family or household member.

Activity report

August 18: Staff responded to the 3000 block of Windmill Point Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 50 block of Rivers Landing for legal advice, and to the 700 block of Ring Farm Road for a suspicious person.

August 19: Staff responded to the 600 block of Boys Camp Road for a civil complaint, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

August 20: Staff responded to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a verbal dispute, to Ocran Road for a traffic complaint, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for an adult welfare check.

August 21: Staff responded to the 300 block of Pinckardsville Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 500 block of Bayport Lane for an adult welfare check, and to the 900 block of Chesapeake Drive for a civil complaint.

August 22: Staff responded to the 300 block of Steamboat Road for a noise complaint, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for disorderly conduct.

August 23: Staff responded to Ivey Creek and Morattico roads for a disabled vehicle, to the 200 block of Shady Lane for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Rappahannock and Chesapeake drives for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of Corrotoman Drive for a larceny, and to the 4000 block of Windmill Point Road for a domestic disturbance.

August 24: Staff responded to the 300 block of Oak Hill Road for a domestic disturbance.

Staff also conducted 17 traffic stops, issued 15 summonses, assisted six motorists, handled a request for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports, received nine E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a carbon monoxide alarm at 159 Broadway, and separate traffic crashes at 287 Shady Lane, and Rappahannock and Chesapeake drives.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to an electrical fire at 25 Huckleberry Lane.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 13 individuals.

Felonies

Jonathan Tyler Martin, 41, of Center Cross was charged August 15 with taking or obtaining a credit card to commit larceny. He also was charged with credit card fraud. These were Essex County warrants served by Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

Manuel McNeil, 61, of Ashland was charged August 18 with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer and obstruction of justice.

Austin Shayne Landry, 49, of Stephenson was charged August 18 with felony assault and battery of a family member.

Terry Lamont Parker Jr., 30, of Callao was charged August 18 with a capias to show cause issued by the Westmoreland County Circuit Court for failing to comply with his probation by violating it on the original charge of unlawful wounding. Parker also was charged with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for failing to appear on the original charges of burglary at night, damaging property and petit larceny.

Travon Johnson, 40, of Montross was charged August 20 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for manufacturing or distributing a Schedule I/II drug. He was served by the King George County Sheriff’s Office.

John Edward Wagoner, 33, of Colonial Beach was charged August 20 with possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I/II drug, second offense. He also was charged with damaging property, disregarding law enforcement signals and driving suspended. Also, he was issued a summons for failing to secure license plate to vehicle.

Amanda Rebecca Leonard, 40, of Reedville was charged August 21 with breaking and entering at night with intent of assault or larceny, petit larceny and stealing checks or bank notes. She also was charged with climbing onto a vehicle or boat with intent to commit a crime. These were Frederick County charges, served by the NCSO. Leonard also was charged August 24 with threatening to bomb, burn or destroy a building, or other structure. She was charged with a summons for threatening an illegal or immoral act over the phone. These were Frederick County warrants.

Misdemeanors

A Tappahannock woman, 41, was charged August 15 with shoplifting from Raceway. This was an Essex County warrant, served by the NCSO, who also issued her a summons for failing to stop at a stop sign.

A Heathsville man, 46, was charged August 17 with assault and battery of a family member.

An Aylett man, 41, was charged August 18 with obstruction of justice.

A Callao man, 30, was charged with petit larceny on a warrant from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. He was served by the NCSO.

A Lottsburg man, 43, was charged August 18 with petit larceny.

Jashawn Omari Carter, 21, of Kilmarnock was charged August 22 with strangulation and pointing or brandishing a firearm.
