Sheriffs’ Reports 09-12-24

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against eight individuals.

A Lancaster woman, 33, was charged September 1 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

A Weems man, 30, was charged September 4 with failure to appear in court for a trial on an underlying charge.

A Weems man, 30, was charged September 5 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

A Weems woman, 34, was charged September 5 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

A Warsaw woman, 38, was charged September 5 with revocation of suspension of sentence and probation on an underlying charge.

A Lancaster man, 23, was charged September 7 with failure to appear in court for arraignment on an underlying charge; assault and battery of a family or household member; and intentionally destroying, defacing or damaging property with the value of such property being less than $1,000.

A Warsaw woman, 21, was charged September 7 with assault and battery of a family or household member.

A Lancaster woman, 28, was charged September 8 with petit larceny.

September 2: Staff responded to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a verbal dispute, to the 8000 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a disabled vehicle, to the 200 block of Evergreen Drive for destruction of property, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a disabled vehicle, to the 200 block of Riverwood Drive for trespassing, to the 1800 block of Windmill Point Road for the report of a capsized boat, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for a verbal dispute, to the 2000 block of White Chapel Road for legal advice, and to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive to assist Virginia State Police on a traffic stop.

September 3: Staff responded to Courthouse and White Chapel roads for a disabled vehicle, to the 3000 block of Crawfords Corner Road for an adult welfare check, and to Rappahannock Drive for a suspicious person.

September 4: Staff responded to the 2000 block of Weems Road for a breaking and entering, to the 200 block of Cherry Point Drive for legal advice, to the 800 block of Merry Point Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Pinckardsville Road for legal advice, to Norris Road for a suspicious vehicle, and to the 1200 block of Ocran Road for trespassing.

September 5: Staff responded to the 90 block of Park Creek Lane for a domestic assault, to Old Saint Johns Road for a suspicious vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 5000 block of Morattico Road for a verbal disagreement, to Whites Lane for a disabled vehicle, to the 13000 block of River Road for destruction of property, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for an adult welfare check, and to the 1200 block of Ocran Road for a verbal dispute.

September 6: Staff responded to the 100 block of First Street for a verbal dispute, to the 500 block of Greentown Road for a suspicious person, to the 200 block of Nuttsville Road for a verbal dispute, to Regina Road for a suspicious person, and to Jenkins Drive for suspicious activity.

September 7: Staff responded to the 2000 block of White Chapel Road for suspicious activity, to the 200 block of Weems Road for vandalism to a mailbox, to Fleets Bay Road for vandalism to mailboxes, to King Carter Drive and Quails Trail for a traffic hazard, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic disturbance, to the 3000 block of White Chapel Road for larceny, and to the 1000 block of White Chapel Road for a domestic disturbance.

September 8: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for larceny, and to Harris Road for a reckless driver.

Staff also conducted 21 traffic stops, issued 19 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded a deer strike accident, investigated five building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received nine E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire Calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 117 Jordan Lane.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against seven individuals.

Felonies

Timothy D. Hull, 46, of Reedville was charged August 27 with possession of a Schedule I/II drug. He also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a summons was issued for refusing to take the breath test.

Levaughn Laffiama Seldon, 36, of Heathsville was charged August 31 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to abide by his probation conditions by testing positive for drugs. He was served by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

Ruben Clark, 33, of Heathsville was charged September 4 with abduction, rape by force or intimation and assault and battery.

Misdemeanors

A Callao man, 39, was charged August 26 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a probation violation.

A Heathsville woman, 44, was charged August 26 with criminal trespassing.

A Tappahannock woman, 50, was charged September 5 with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was issued a summons for refusing the breath test.

A Lottsburg woman, 25, was charged September 6 with two counts of shoplifting from the Walmart in Tappahannock. These were Essex County warrants served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
