Sheriffs’ Reports 09-14-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against one individual.

A Virgilina man was charged September 5 with contempt of court-failure to appear.

Activity report

September 4: Staff responded to the 100 block of Alphonso Road for civil issue, to the 400 block of Greentown Road for a trespasser, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for suspicious activity, and to the 3200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a verbal dispute.

September 5: Staff responded to the 8000 block of River Road for a suicidal person, to Golf Course Drive for vandalism of a well house, and to a walk-in report of check theft, check fraud and larceny of items from the 1100 block of Old Salem Road.

September 6: Staff responded to the 100 block of Sandy Lane for a sexual assault of a juvenile, to the 2300 block of Bluff Point Road to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with an assault, to the 100 block of School Street for a verbal dispute, to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a person with an altered mental status, and to the 5500 block of Irvington Road for suspicious activity.

September 7: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Windmill Point Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 8300 block of Mary Ball Road for check fraud and grand larceny of U.S. currency, to the 5300 block of Mary Ball Road for the theft of two leather coats, to the 500 block of Southport Lane for the report of debit card theft and larceny of fund, to Mary Ball Road in Lively for a reckless driver, and to River and Belle Isle roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries.

September 8: Staff responded to the 100 block of Lively Oaks Road for suspicious activity, to the 400 block of Mary Ball Road for a minor two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Methodist Church Road for a wanted person, to the 100 block of Pine Drive for a stolen deck umbrella, to the 4300 block of Irvington Road for check forgery and larceny, to the 1200 block of Crawfords Corner Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Mary Ball and Harris Roads for a suspicious person, and to the 1000 block of Ocran Road to check the welfare of a resident.

September 9: Staff responded to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another, to the 400 block of Benson Road for a domestic assault, and to the 500 block of Gaskins Road to assist emergency medical services with lift assistance.

September 10: Staff responded to the 1100 block of Old Salem Road to assist Hampton Police Department with a hit and run traffic crash investigation, to the 200 block of Cottage Lane for a burglary in progress, to the 400 block of Benson Road for a domestic assault involving alcohol, to the 100 block of Primary School Circle for suspicious activity, to the 1600 block of Chownings Ferry Road to check the welfare of a resident, and to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a disorderly person.

Staff also conducted 11 traffic stops, issued seven summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded two deer strike accidents, investigated seven building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged an inmate transport, received 19 E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on North Main Street.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Crawfords Corner Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 16 individuals.

Felonies

Andrea B. Landman, 41, of Callao was charged August 23 on a direct indictment issued by the Essex County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for distribution of a controlled substance on school property and selling or distributing a Schedule III drug. She also was charged August 23 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for two counts of selling/distributing a Schedule IV drug.

Jazmin Marie Shipp, 26, of Callao was charged August 23 with malicious wounding and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Louis Patrick Spencer, 60, of Warsaw was charged August 29 on a direct indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury for entering into a dwelling with intent to murder and second-degree murder. He was served the direct indictment by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO).

Mark Wayne Fletcher Jr., 21, of Reedville was charged with two counts of grand larceny and two counts of credit card larceny.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 52, was charged August 23 with violating a protective order, threatening an illegal or immoral act over the phone and criminal trespassing. He also was charged with damaging property and a capias/attachment of the body issued by the Northumberland County General District Court for violating his pre-trial services.

A Charlotte Hall, Md. man, 39, was charged August 26 with assault and battery.

A Heathsville man, 49, was charged August 26 with assault and battery.

A Heathsville man, 49, was charged August 27 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville man, 52, was charged August 30 with three counts of violating protective orders on three different days. These were Northumberland County charges, served by the RCSO.

A Heathsville man, 43, was charged August 30 with embezzlement.

A Richmond man, 52, was charged August 31 with failure to appear issued by the Northumberland County General District Court. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Henrico County Police Department.

A Heathsville woman, 37, was charged August 31 with providing a substitute sample for a drug screening.

A Burgess man, 41, was charged September 2 with criminal trespassing.

A Wicomico Church man, 47, was charged September 3 with violating a family protective order.

A Heathsville woman, 21, was charged September 4 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Callao man was charged September 5 with 11 counts of animal cruelty/deprivation.
