Sheriffs’ Reports 09-17-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against two individuals.

Felony

Audie Joseph Flessner, 20, of Lancaster was charged September 11 knowingly communicating in writing a threat to kill or do bodily injury which placed a person in reasonable apprehension of death or bodily injury.

Misdemeanor

A Laurel, Md., man, 42, was charged September 13 with obstructing/resisting by threats or force a law enforcement officer and appearing intoxicated in public.

Activity report

Sept. 7: Staff responded to the 500 block of Youcomico Drive for a possible traffic crash, to Mary Ball Road in Lancaster for a reckless driver, Buzzard Neck Road for dirt bikes on the roadway, to the end of Cherry Point Drive trespassers on the beach, to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for a hit-and-run on private property, to a walk-in report of a civil issue involving the ownership of a vehicle, to the 800 block of Chownings Ferry Road for trespassers, and to the 1600 block of Chownings Ferry Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a family member.

Sept. 8: Staff responded to the 100 block of Pleasant Banks Lane for a stolen political sign, to the 300 block of Tammy Drive to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a family member, and to the 500 block of Devils Bottom Road for trespassers and vandalism.

Sept. 9: Staff responded to a walk-in report of threats made to harm another, to the 200 block of Enon Hall Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a neighbor, and to the 100 block of Flagstaff Road for reckless use of a firearm.

Sept. 10: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road and Whites Lane for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to Morattico Road for a downed tree in the roadway, to the 4500 block of Irvington Road for suspicious activity, and to the 2400 block of River Road for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Sept. 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of Irvington Road for a fight in progress with weapons, to a walk-in report of the larceny of U.S. Currency, to Mary Ball and River roads for a single-vehicle overturned traffic crash, to the 4000 block of Black Stump Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a family member, and to the 100 block of Landing Drive for suspicious activity.

Sept. 12: Staff responded to Devils Bottom Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 900 block of Griffins Landing Road for a downed tree on power lines, to the 9000 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, and to the 8200 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver.

Sept. 13: Staff responded to the 18400 block of Mary Ball Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 5200 block of Mary Ball Road for a suspicious person walking in the highway and appearing to have mental issues, to the 300 block of Akins Lane for a possible prowler, and to Merry Point Road for vehicles racing on the highway.

Staff also conducted seven traffic stops, issued three summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded a deer strike accident, handled a call for traffic control, investigated four building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received 27 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded a call for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Harris Road and James B. Jones Memorial Highway, a fire/smoke alarm on Claybrook Avenue, and a traffic crash on Devils Bottom Road.

White Stone VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Windmill Point Road and to establish a landing zone for emergency medical services on Old Point Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash on Whites Lane and a downed tree on the power lines on Griffins Landing Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 26 individuals.

Felonies

Carl Timothy Rich, 31, of Heathsville was charged August 28 with possession of a Schedule I or II drug and abuse/neglect of a child. He also was charged September 2 with felony possession with intent to sell/distribute a Schedule I or II drug, third-plus offense. This was a Northumberland County warrant and served by the Richmond County Sheriffs Office (RCSO).

Joshua Ashburn, 34, of Burgess was charged August 29 with assault and battery of a family member, third-plus offense.

Tyrone Michael Terrell Waddy, 40, of Burgess was charged August 30 with street robbery. He also was charged with assault and battery of a family member, third-plus offense. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the Newport News Police Department.

Elton Tawaron Cockrell, 38, of Lancaster was charged August 31 on a capias to show cause issued from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for the original charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense within a five-year period and felony eluding.

Cockrell also was charged with grand larceny, malicious injury to law enforcement, disregard for a law enforcement command to pull over, driving revoked, third-plus offense, aggressive driving with intent to injure and driving with an open container. These were Richmond County charges served by the Northumberland County Sheriffs Office.

He also was charged September 7 with felony disregard for a law enforcement command, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I or II drug and fleeing from a law enforcement officer. These were Northumberland County warrants served by the RCSO.

David Webster Brann, 42, of Callao was charged September 6 with driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol, third offense within five years. He also was charged with driving revoked, DUI related, second-plus offense, driving revoked, alcohol related, refusal of the breath test, second-plus offense and failing to give a signal,

Cirilo Zarraga Andablo, 35, of Callao was charged September 8 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for grand larceny.

Deasia Tukera Cobb, 21, of Center Cross was charged September 8 on a direct indictment issued from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for knowingly communicating in writing a threat to kill or do bodily injury.

Misdemeanors

A Montross woman, 38, was charged August 21 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court on an original charge of shoplifting,

A Callao man, 47, was charged August 29, with being drunk in public.

A Heathsville man, 31, was charged August 29 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and reckless driving. He also was charged with operating an unregistered vehicle and failing to have the vehicle inspected.

A Callao man, 54, was charged August 30 with obstructing communication through a wireless device, while preventing a call for help.

A Tappahannock woman (no age given) was charged September 1 with assault and battery.

A Reedville woman, 19, was charged September 1 with assault and battery.

A Reedville man, 19, was charged September 1 with assault and battery.

A Tappahannock woman, 21, was charged September 1 with two counts of assault and battery.

A Heathsville man, 20, was charged September 1 with two counts of assault and battery,

A Middleton, Del., man, 19, was charged September 5 with driving under the influence, first offense.

A Heathsville man, 32, was charged September 6 on a summons for a threatening/dangerous dog.

A Callao woman, 67, was charged September 8 with assault and battery.

A Callao man, 22, was charged September 9 with violating a protective order.

A Reedville man, 25, was charged September 10 with a summons for failing to secure or cover a truck’s load.

A Heathsville man, 50, was charged September 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol, first offense, and failing to drive on the right side of the road.

A Reedville man, 27, was charged September 13 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Reedville woman, 22, was charged September 13 with assault and battery.

A Heathsville man, 64, was charged September 13 with driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense within five years.

A Kilmarnock man, 52, was charged September 13 on a summons for damaging property.
