Sheriffs’ Reports 10-25-18

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against two individuals.

An Ocran Road man, 50, was charged October 15 with violation of a protective order.

A Morattico Road man, 31, was charged October 16 for, as a debtor, failed to appear or answer or make any answers to the court.

Activity report

Oct. 15: Staff responded to the 1800 block of Morattico Road for theft of a ladder, and to Irvington Road for two vehicles blocking the highway.

Oct. 16: Staff responded to Weems and Johns Neck roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for theft of a golf cart, and to Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a reckless driver.

Oct. 17: Staff responded to the 1200 block of Crawfords Corner Road to check the welfare of a juvenile left home alone.

Oct. 18: Staff responded to the 1000 block of Johns Neck Road for juveniles throwing rocks at a neighbor’s property, to the 500 block of Wilson Lane to assist emergency medical services with a medical emergency, and to James Wharf Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash with injuries.

Oct. 19: Staff responded to the 100 block of Primary School Circle for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a reckless driver, and to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a sexual assault involving juveniles.

Oct. 20: Staff responded to the 400 block of Chesapeake Drive for vandalism and theft of yard signs, to the 200 block of Spindrift Road for a disoriented person, to the 100 block of Williams Mill Lane for the report of a burglary and larceny of collectible coins, to the 600 block of Rappahannock Drive to assist the White Stone Police Department (WSPD) with the report of a foot pursuit of an offender, and to the 4100 block of Windmill Point Road for the report of vehicles racing and traveling at a high rate of speed.

Oct. 21: Staff responded to the area of Windmill Point Road for the report of a reckless driver, to the area of Black Stump Road for the report of a suspicious person, and to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for the report of an assault.

Staff also conducted 34 traffic stops, issued 15 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, fielded five calls for traffic control, investigated six building alarms, processed one mental health order, logged three inmate transports, received 12 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to separate traffic crashes at Weems and Johns Neck roads and on James Wharf Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to separate fire/smoke alarms on Queenstown Road and Morattico Road.

The Kilmarnock VFD responded to separate traffic crashes on Bluff Point Road and Primary School Circle as well as a fire/smoke alarm on Prentice Point Road and a lift assistance request on Mary Ball Road.

EMS calls

For October 14-20, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 46 calls for service including 18 medical emergencies, four injuries, seven traffic accidents, two fires and 15 other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 8 individuals.

Felonies

Kevin Johnson Hall, no age given, of Lancaster County was charged October 12 with a capias to show cause from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to appear. This paper was served by the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office.

Misdemeanors

A Reedville man, 55, was charged October 15 with a warrant of extradition from Massachusetts for failing to appear for a probation violation.

A Heathsville man, 30, was charged October 16 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court for an arraignment for a charge of driving outside of his restrictions.

A Heathsville man, 30, was charged October 16 with assault and battery.

A Kinsale man, 33, was charged October 18 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

A Hampton man, 45, was charged October 19 with violating a protective order.

A Reedville man, 44, was charged October 19 with driving while suspended, third-plus offense.

A Heathsville man, 40, was charged October 19 with a capias/attachment of the body from the Northumberland County General District Court for consuming alcohol and possession of marijuana and failing to be on peace and good behavior. He also received new charges in Lancaster County.

Fire calls

For October 15-21, the Callao VFD responded to four calls, including two public service calls, one fire alarm and one motor vehicle crash.

The Fairfields VFD responded to three calls, including one fire alarm, one medical call and one motor vehicle crash.

EMS calls

For October 15-21, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 39 calls, including 23 medical calls, eight falls/trauma, two motor vehicle crashes, three other calls and three standby/public service calls.
