Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.
Felonies
Jonte Artyne Towles, 25, of Lancaster was charged November 2 with maliciously shooting or throwing a missile at an occupied building; possession of a firearm by a felon; shooting a firearm from a vehicle; buying/receiving stolen goods valued at under $500; and as a passenger, failing to report a traffic accident with property damage. He also was charged November 4 with possession of cocaine, a Schedule I or II narcotic.
Kristina Victoria Brown, 23, of Heathsville was charged November 5 with five counts of embezzlement of funds over $200.
Misdemeanors
A Lancaster man, 36, was charged November 5 with failure to appear on a traffic summons.
A Locust Hill man, 56, was charged November 7 with driving while intoxicated, second offense within 10 years; and refusing a blood or breath test after being arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Nov. 2: Staff responded to the 5700 block of White Chapel Road for a possible burglary in progress, to Light Street to assist the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office with a single-vehicle fatal traffic crash, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris on the roadway causing a traffic hazard, and to the 400 block of Wilson Lane for a trespasser.
Nov. 3: Staff responded to the 10500 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for shooting at an occupied vehicle, to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a disorderly person, to the 300 block of Waddytown Road for a trespasser, to the 8300 block of Mary Ball for a person brandishing a firearm from a moving vehicle, and to the 2000 block of Fleets Bay Road for suspicious activity.
Nov. 4: Staff responded to the 200 block of Old Fairground Way to assist KPD with shoplifting and a disorderly person.
Nov. 5: Staff responded to the 900 block of Windmill Point Road for a rental equipment dispute, to the 100 block of Little Bay Road for several vehicles parked in the roadway, to the Norris Bridge for a minor traffic crash, to the 11000 block of River Road for a juvenile behavior issue, and to the 500 block of Black Stump Road for an assault.
Nov. 6: Staff responded to Avis Trail for suspected narcotics, to the 100 block of Chestnut Grove Lane for vandalism, to the 400 block of King Carter Drive for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 1000 block of Laurel Point Road to check the welfare of a juvenile after being alerted by a family member, and to the 200 block of Peake Road for the report of suspicious activity.
Nov. 7: Staff responded to Harris Road to assist KPD with a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Shalem Place for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Teal Lane for juvenile behavior issues, to Mary Ball and Devils Bottom roads for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 700 block of Sage Hill Road for gunshots, and to the 900 block of Ocran Road for gunshots.
Nov. 8: Staff responded to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a stolen air conditioner, to the 7800 block of River Road for a suspicious occupied vehicle, and to the 16500 block of Mary Ball Road for a possible prowler.
Staff also conducted 26 traffic stops, issued 24 summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded six deer strike accidents, investigated five building alarms, logged an inmate transport, received 28 E911 hang-up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.
Fire calls
Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department responded to separate traffic crashes on Light Street and Shalem Place.
Kilmarnock VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Sculling Oar Trail and a traffic crash on Harris Road.
White Stone VFD responded to a lift assistance request on Weems Road.
Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 10 individuals.
Felonies
Russell Scott, 26, of Warsaw was charged November 3 on a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for selling, distributing a controlled substance, considered to be a Schedule II drug. The arrest was made by the Virginia State Police (VSP).
Dakota Anastasio Galves, 25, of Reedville was charged November 5 with possession with intent to sell/distribute more than one ounce, but less than five pounds of marijuana. He also was charged with possession of a Schedule I or lI drug and possession/transporting ammunition after being declared a convicted felon. These were Northumberland County warrants served by VSP.
Sherri Lee Galves, 56, of Reedville was charged November 5 with possession with intent to sell or distribute more than five pounds of marijuana.
Regan Ciara Norris, 29, of Kilmarnock was charged November 8 with assault and battery of a law enforcement officer. She also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense in five years; reckless driving/no signal; driving on a revoked license; obstruction of justice; and reckless driving/driver out of control. She was charged with two summons for operating an uninsured vehicle and drinking/driving with an open container.
Misdemeanors
A Heathsville woman, 33, was charged November 2 with writing a bad check to Baughn Tire.
A Reedville woman, 70, was charged November 3 with assault and battery of a family member.
A Heathsville man, 36, was charged November 3 with stealing a Samsung Galaxy S9 and currency from an individual.
A Lancaster man, 36, was charged November 6 with being drunk in public and obstruction of justice.
A Reedville man, 30, was charged November 7 with a capias to show cause issued from the Richmond County Circuit Court for failing to comply with his pre-trial supervision and not reporting for random drug and alcohol testing.
A Callao woman, 43, was charged November 9 with assault and battery of a family member and obstruction of justice.
