Sheriffs’ Reports 2-06-20

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Jacob Michael Monday, 21, of Lancaster was charged January 27 with two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony; as a prisoner, damage property to escape or make less secure; and as a prisoner possess a tool to aid escape. He also was charged January 30 with a misdemeanor violation of damaging property valued under $1,000.

Floyd D. Roberts, 52, of Lancaster was charged January 28 with two counts of malicious wounding, and maliciously shooting or throwing a missile at an occupied building.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 51, was charged January 30 with causing a phone not owned by the accused to ring for the purpose to annoy another; and knowingly giving a false report, as the commission of a crime, to a law enforcement official with intent to mislead.

A Heathsville woman, 32, was charged January 30 with violating community-based probation.

A Heathsville man, 38, was charged (no date given) with three counts of probation violation on a felony offense.

Activity report

January 27: Staff responded to Devils Bottom Road and Riverwood Drive for a two-vehicle traffic crash, to the 200 block of Tom Morris Drive for an attempt to obtain money by fraud, to the 100 block of American Drive for a sudden death, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard; to the 100 block of Irvington Road to assist Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with the report of a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, and to the 900 block of Oak Hill Road to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a family member.

January 28: Staff responded to the 100 block of Whays Way for a burglary and stolen firearms, to the 100 block of Hatton Avenue to assist KPD with the report of a domestic disturbance, and to the 11000 block of River Road for an assault.

January 29: Staff responded to the 100 block of Chestnut Grove Road for larceny of heating oil, to the 200 block of Chesapeake Drive for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 500 block of Goodluck Road for a domestic disturbance.

January 30: Staff responded to the 8200 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for the report of a sudden death, to the 1200 block of Merry Point Road for a crowd of people in the roadway, to the 100 block of Birchall Lane to assist Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) with the report of a man with a gun, to Buzzards Neck Road for vehicles parked in the highway blocking passing vehicles, to Weems and Lumberlost roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Bel-Mer Way to assist KPD with the report of a burglary and death investigation.

January 31: Staff responded to the 100 block of Mercers Way for the report of an unattended death.

February 1: Staff responded to the 100 block of Brent Court for larceny of house appliances, to the 500 block of Black Stump Road for a four-wheeler on the public roadway, and to the 200 block of Norris Drive to check the welfare of a resident after receiving a report from a family member.

February 2: Staff responded to the 100 block of Harris Road for possible child abuse, to Lancaster Shores for several gunshots discharged, and to the 100 block of Wesley Terrace to check the welfare of a resident after being alerted by a family member.

Staff also conducted 10 traffic stops, issued seven summonses, assisted five motorists, recorded three deer strike accidents, handled five calls for traffic control, investigated a building alarm, process two mental health orders, logged six inmate transports, received eight E911 hang-up calls, and fielded three calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on Devils Bottom Road, a vehicle fire on Primary School Circle and a fire/smoke alarm on William B. Graham Court.

White Stone VFD responded to a lift assistance request on Ring Farm Road.

EMS calls

For January 26-February 1, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 32 calls, including 17 medical emergencies, three injuries, two traffic accidents, four fires and six other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against six individuals.

Felonies

Deasia Tukera Cobb, 20, of Center Cross was charged January 27 with felony knowingly communicating in writing a threat to kill or do bodily injury.

Misdemeanors

A Heathsville man, 28, was charged January 27 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court for an original charge of driving suspended.

A Heathsville man, 24, was charged January 27 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court for an original charge of driving suspended, second offense.

A Reedville man, 25, was charged January 28 on a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for a violation of a court order.

A Burgess man, 36, was charged January 28 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for testing positive on his drug screenings. This was to revoke his bond.

A Heathsville woman, 52, was charged January 30 with driving on a revoked license. This was alcohol related.
