Sheriffs’ Reports 9-20-18

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against five individuals.

Felonies

Jonathan A. Towles, 20, of Merry Point Road was charged September 11 with four felony counts of distribution of controlled substance, Schedule II.

Misdemeanors

A Windmill Point Road woman, 60, was charged September 12 with nine counts of failure to vaccinate dogs, nine counts of failure to purchase a license for dogs and two counts of failure to control vicious dogs.

A Summers Lane woman, 44, was charged September 13 with a pretrial services violation.

A Holly Haven Road woman, 79, was charged September 13 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Holly Haven Road man, 81, was charged September 13 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report

September 10: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for the report of debris in the highway creating a traffic hazard, to the intersection of River and Mary Ball roads for a reckless driver, to the 8600 block of Mary Ball Road to check the welfare of a child after receiving a report from the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office, to Mary Ball and Old Salem roads for a motor home stuck in the ditch blocking the highway, to the 600 block of North Main Street to assist with a single-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Morattico Road for a narcotics violation.

September 11: Staff responded to the 10500 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for stolen vehicle license plates, and to the 4200 block of Lara Road for a downed tree blocking the highway.

September 12: Staff responded to a walk-in report of a stolen wallet, to the 8200 block of River Road to assist the Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department with entry into a home, and to Mablewood Street to assist the Kilmarnock Police Department (KPD) with a report of gunshots.

September 13: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Old Salem roads to assist Virginia State Police (VSP) with an intoxicated driver, to the 7800 block of River Road for an abandoned vehicle, to the 100 block of Holly Haven Road for a domestic assault, and to Harpers Creek Drive for a report of gunshots.

September 14: Staff responded to 100 block of Beach Road for a stolen purse from within a vehicle, to the 100 block of Irvington Road for the unauthorized use of a vehicle, to the 200 block of Wiggins Avenue to assist KPD with a trespasser, and to the 200 block of Old Fair Grounds Way to assist KPD with a report of three shoplifters.

September 15: Staff responded to the end of Windmill Point Road for three suspicious people on the beach in the early morning hours, and to the 400 block of West Point Road for suspicious persons with firearms.

September 16: Staff responded to the 100 block of Fitzhugh Street for a domestic disturbance, to the 100 block of Turner Lane for a trespasser, to Irvington for gunshots, and to Merry Point Road for a reckless driver.

Staff also conducted 14 traffic stops, issued six summonses, assisted seven motorists, fielded three calls for traffic control, investigated two building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received 13 E911 hang-up calls, fielded three calls for animal control and issued two animal control summonses.

Fire calls

The Kilmarnock VFD responded to a traffic crash on Bluff Point Road and a tree on a power line on Simmons Lane.

The White Stone VFD responded to a traffic crash on Old Salem Road and fire/smoke alarm on Windmill Point Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on River Road.

EMS calls

During September 2-15, the Kilmarnock-Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad, Upper Lancaster Volunteer Rescue Squad and Lancaster County Emergency Services responded to 71 calls for service including 30 medical emergencies, 11 injuries, nine traffic accidents, six fires and 15 other calls.

Northumberland County Sheriff James R. “Doc” Lyons this week reported charges against 27 individuals.

Felonies

Dalton Edward Douglas, 25, of Hague was charged August 28 with abduction. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Tappahannock Police Department.

Damien Terrell Baylor, 36, of Heathsville was charged August 28 with assault and battery, third offense and interfering with radio transmission.

Aaron Joquine Walters, 26, of Lancaster was charged August 29 with a direct indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury for two counts of feloniously sell/distribute a controlled substance, Schedule II drug.

Deondre Lampkin, 24, of Heathsville was charged August 30 with manufacturing/selling a controlled substance or marijuana on a publicly operated recreation center or public library. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Richmond County Sheriffs Office (RCSO).

Larry Wright Byiers, 60, of Callao was served August 30 on a direct indictment by the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with one count of aggravated sexual battery and one count of forcible sodomy, both on a child under the age of 13. This was a Northumberland County paper served by RCSO.

Bobbie Yvette Jones Kimble, 31, of Reedville was charged August 30 with a Direct Indictment by the Northumberland Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with one count of possession of a Schedule II drug. This was a Northumberland County paper served by VSP.

Willie Patrick Keyser, 19, of Weems was charged August 31 on a Direct Indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with the following charges: two counts of feloniously sell/distribute a controlled substance, Schedule II; one count of selling/distributing less than one half ounce of marijuana; four counts of feloniously selling/distributing a substance, Schedule II, within a 1000 feet from a school; two counts of feloniously selling/distributing marijuana within 1000 feet from a school; and two counts of unlawfully selling a half ounce or less of marijuana within a 1000 feet from a school.

Kayla Brooke Chatham, 23, of Callao was charged August 31 with abduction. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

Dasmine Durrell Fisher, 27, of Weems was charged September 3 on a Direct Indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with one felony count of selling/distributing a controlled substance, Schedule II. He was also charged with two misdemeanor counts of selling/distributing half ounce or less of marijuana. This was a Northumberland County paper served by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO).

Brandon Jeron Curry, 26, of Lancaster was charged September 7 with one felony count of attempting to sell a Schedule I or II drug; three felony counts of distribution/selling marijuana within 1000 feet of a school; three felony counts of selling/distribution of a Schedule I or II drug; one felony count of distribution of marijuana within or near a recreational center or library; and a misdemeanor of selling or distributing marijuana. These were all Northumberland County charges and were served by MCSO.

Lionel Lamont Baker, 43, of Kilmarnock was charged September 8 on a Direct Indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with three felony counts of selling or possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, third or subsequent charges; one felony count of distributing a controlled substance on school property; and one misdemeanor charge of unlawfully selling/distributing less than one half ounce of marijuana. This was a Northumberland County paper served by LCSO.

George Antonio Lee, 44, of Hague was charged September 8 with assault and battery, third plus offense. This was a Northumberland County warrant served by VSP.

Jonathan Arthur Towles, 20, of Lancaster was charged September 11 on a Direct Indictment from the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with two felony counts of selling/distributing a controlled substance, Schedule I or II drug; and feloniously conspiring to sell/distribute a controlled substance, Schedule I drug. This was a Northumberland County paper served by LCSO.

Ricky Avon Gibson, 23, of Weems was charged September 11 on a Direct Indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with two counts of feloniously sell/distribute a controlled substance, Schedule II drug; feloniously sell/distribute a controlled substance, Schedule 1 drug; and two felony counts of distribution of a controlled substance on school property.

George Randolph Holden, 65, of Lottsburg was charged September 14 on a Direct Indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with two counts of aggravated sexual battery with a child under the age of 13 years old. This paper was served by the Essex County Sheriff’s Office.

Misdemeanors

A Henrico man, 37, was charged August 27 with threatening an illegal or immoral act over the phone.

A Heathsville man, 29, was charged August 30 with violating a protective order.

A Weems man, 23, was charged September 5 on a Direct Indictment issued by the Northumberland County Multi-jurisdictional Grand Jury with unlawfully selling/distributing less than a half ounce of marijuana. This was a Northumberland County paper served by LCSO.

A Callao woman, 23, was charged September 6 with a capias to show cause from the Northumberland County Circuit Court for failing to comply with her pre-trial supervision.

A Reedville man, 45, was charged September 7 with driving revoked or suspended, obstruction of justice and a summons was issued for speeding.

A Burgess man, 21, was charged September 11 with attempting to defeat an alcohol/drug test by the substitution of a sample. This was a Richmond County warrant served by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

A Callao man, 59, was charged September 13 with possession of marijuana, first offense.

A Callao man, 52, was charged September 13 with assault and battery.

A Callao woman, 22, was charged September 13 with two counts of criminal trespassing.

A Reedville man, 55, was charged September 14 with hit and run, reckless driving and failing to inspect a vehicle. These papers were served by VSP.

A Lancaster man, 27, was charged September 15 with possession of marijuana, second offense, carrying a concealed weapon and defective equipment. These papers were served by VSP.

A Kilmarnock man, 33, was charged September 17 with driving while under the influence and speeding.

Fire calls

For September 16-20, the Callao VFD responded to seven calls, including a fire, two vehicle crashes, a gas leak, two medical calls, and a mutual aid request to Westmoreland.

The Fairfields VFD responded to four calls, including two vehicle crashes and two citizen assistance requests (storm related damage).

EMS calls

For September 10-16, the Northumberland County Emergency Services, Callao Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Northumberland County Volunteer Rescue Squad responded to 22 calls including 24 medical emergencies, three vehicle crashes, a fire standby and two mutual aid requests to Westmoreland.
