WARSAW—A nationwide manhunt for 21-year-old Dakota Theriot, who was suspected of shooting his parents and three other people in Louisiana, ended Sunday morning in the Northern Neck.
Theriot was apprehended without incident by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies at Theriot’s grandmother’s home in Warsaw. According to Richmond County Sheriff Stephan Smith, Theriot was transported to the Northern Neck Regional Jail, where he is being held without bond pending an appearance in Richmond County General District Court at 9 a.m. Friday, February 1, to determine extradition proceedings.
Theriot, 21, can choose to waive or fight extradition, said Sheriff Smith.
Theriot is facing charges in Ascension Parish in Louisiana on two counts of first-degree murder, home invasion and illegal use of weapons.
