When youngsters heard a steamboat whistle across the creek, they were often the first to reach the docks. That excitement can still be found in Irvington, thanks to the summertime youth programs provided by the Steamboat Era Museum, 156 King Carter Drive, Irvington.
During June, July and early August, the museum will hold a Friday morning event every week for ages 4-12.
On June 28, youngsters 7-12 can enjoy a Night at the Museum from 5-9 p.m. Parents can drop them off for a night out while the youngsters enjoy pizza, popcorn and a movie with crafts.
On July 27, ages 5-12 can participate in the Steamboat Olympics on the adjacent Irvington Commons, 98 King Carter Drive, Irvington. Sign up for all events at….
