Slippery and Bodhisattva win 2022 Cape Dory Typhoon National Championship Regatta

The Rappahannock River Yacht Club (RRYC) hosted the sixth Cape Dory Typhoon National Championship Regatta June 4-5 on the Rappahannock River.

The boat of the regatta, Slippery, was sailed expertly by Hampton Yacht Club sailors Lis Biondi and Neil Ford, reported public relations coordinator Bob Damon. They had purchased the weekender from Danielle Kuper (TY Affair), faired the bottom, painted the bottom and hull, and launched Slippery for her first sail at RRYC.

Slippery placed first in the Championship Fleet, followed by Sweet Pea with skipper Geoff Lawson, Riverscape with Thomas Sheehan and Mad Cow with John Congdon.

Bodhisattva with skipper Tony Calkins placed first in the Corinthian Fleet, followed by Sea Wind with Pete Winters, Bella with Greg Kirkbride and Funky Dory with Sandy Martin.

The regatta began with 12 Typhoons in the Championship Fleet and six in the Corinthian Fleet….
