Speaker series to explore local waters

The Second Saturday Series at the Steamboat Era Museum will conclude on Saturday, May 13.

Retired Chesapeake Bay Foundation senior naturalist John Page Williams will talk about the beauty and power of local waterways and their history, reported executive director Steve Humphrey.

Starting with Capt. John Smith’s 1607-1609 explorations, and his 1612 map that opened the Chesapeake to English colonization, Williams will share how the Chesapeake has shaped history, travel and commerce.
