Speaker will discuss role of native plants to preserve pollinators

The public is invited to the Thursday, November 16, meeting of the Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society (NNNPS). The meeting will begin at noon at Wicomico Parish Episcopal Church, 5191 Jesse Ball duPont Memorial Highway, Wicomico Church.

Naturalist Jane Henley will present the latest research findings on why bee and butterfly populations are declining in Virginia and surrounding states.

“Of particular importance will be explaining how our farmers and gardeners can combat further losses of our pollinators, particularly native bees and butterflies,” she said.
