Historic Christ Church & Museum (HCC&M), 420 Christchurch Road, Weems, will host its annual spring training program for new and returning volunteers Monday, April 4, through Wednesday, April 6.
The program will begin each morning with coffee and refreshments at 8:30 a.m. followed by training sessions from 9 a.m.-noon, reported Foundation for Historic Christ Church executive director Robert Teagle.
A mix of researchers at HCC&M and outside speakers will present on a variety of topics related to Christ Church’s history and its role in colonial Virginia. Day one features Northern Neck historian Lois Williams on “Tobacco and Slavery in Lancaster County.” Northern Neck Master Gardener Sally Beard and HCC&M volunteers Judy Werner and Val Verburg follow with a history of the herb garden at Historic Christ Church.
Day two opens with a presentation on Robert Carter III….
