More than a century after its founding, the spirit of St. Margaret’s School is alive again.
The St. Margaret’s School Foundation recently launched an all-girls microschool for day students, opening for the 2026–27 academic year.
Applications are now open, with enrollment limited to 10 students in grades 9-12 for this inaugural class, reported interim head of school Valorie Mundie.
St. Margaret’s first opened in 1921, beginning with 18 students and classes held above a drugstore. For over a century, the school shaped generations of remarkable young women along the banks of the Rappahannock River before its closure in 2025.
