St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church to host ‘Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols’

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Heathsville will hold a storytelling and caroling service celebrating Christmas at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 19.

This is the church’s musical gift to the community featuring a septet of professional musicians who will lead the free service, a “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.”

Seating will begin with an organ prelude at 3:30 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 6807 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.

The service will combine the reading of Bible passages interspersed with the singing of carols, reported Ellen Kirby. The story will begin with Adam’s expulsion from the garden of Eden, and then moves on to the promise of a Messiah, the birth of Jesus and….
