Stratford Hall receives $500,000 grant from Virginia Department of Historic Resources

STRATFORDStratford Hall recently announced the receipt of a $500,000 grant from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources to complete critical preservation work and enhance the visitor experience, further promoting heritage tourism activities in the Northern Neck.

A ceremonial check presentation took place Wednesday, October 16, at the Westmoreland County Board of Supervisors meeting, where the county formally presented the funds to Stratford Hall president Karen L. Daly.

This generous support will enable Stratford Hall to preserve historic buildings, including work by master craftsmen on the site’s structures. This includes restoring the Spring House, built on a foundation that dates to the Lee colonial era and….
