Strawberry Festival coming Saturday

The annual Strawberry Festival will be held from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27, on the grounds of historic St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 6807 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.

“The festival has been a Northern Neck tradition for decades and is consistently rated one of the area’s best events,” said coordinator Ellen Kirby.

Festival highlights will include arts and craft exhibitors selling handcrafted goods, homemade strawberry shortcakes, fresh local strawberries sold by the quart, children’s activities, a large plant sale with hundreds of perennials and herbs, an extensive bakery and a large silent auction.

The silent auction will feature an Aqua Finn 14-foot sailboat, a Pelican Expedition canoe and an Old Town single or tandem….
