KILMARNOCK—The long anticipated “Symphony in Flowers” arrived in Kilmarnock on Sunday, March 12, to an audience filled with anticipation of this “one of a kind” event and they were not disappointed.
The Lancaster High School Symphonic Band, under the direction of Robbie Spiers, combined with international floral artist Francine Thomas of New Zealand delighted the audience with a unique program combining music and flowers.
Even before entering the Lancaster Middle School, towering bamboo arrangements greeted the attendees, giving them a taste of the show ahead where life size floral designs took form to a variety of music, reported Genny Chase of the Kilmarnock Garden Club. With high energy and a delightful accent, accompanied by the band, Thomas portrayed many themes, followed with musical arrangements by Spiers and the students to unify this unusual presentation.
