First Day Hike
Several Virginia State Parks will host First Day Hikes on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, 2026. Belle Isle State Park, 1632 Belle Isle Road, Lancaster, will offer a ranger-led hike from 1-3 p.m. with a scenic twist. For a How Do You “Picture” 2026 “Developing?” nature hike, participants are urged to meet at the Picnic Area and be prepared to take photos of what makes the park special in their eyes.
