As part of the Northern Neck Artisan Trail’s “Open Door Tour” on June 11, the Heritage Arts Center Gift Shoppe at Historic Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville, will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“See demonstrations of weaving on a hand loom, spinning yarn, wood carving and more, while you browse the shop,” said manager Corinne Becker.
Over 75 artists and artisans will have handcrafted items for sale, including pottery, basketry, quilted items, jewelry, wrought iron work, turned wooden bowls and cards, said Becker.
Members of the Tavern’s Culinary Guild will serve hot-from-the-fryer glazed donuts in the Tavern Café. Hot coffee and iced tea also will be available.
