BOTHELL, WA—Thelma “Tensie” H. Williams of Bothell, Wash., passed away at home on November 3, 2023.
She was born in Kilmarnock to Elijah and Eulalia Curry and spent her youth working on the family farm before attending Hampton Institute (now University). She worked for Bank of America before working for and retiring from Boeing as a data entry specialist. She also spent 40 years singing with the Jet Cities Chorus of Sweet Adelines International.
Tensie, as she was known to her friends, was very protective of her family when she felt they were not being treated fairly and not afraid to let her feelings be known to anyone.
She is preceded in death by her daughters, Alpha D. Kness and Elizabeth R. Williams; and several of her siblings.
She is survived by her sister, Jean Jones of Kilmarnock; and her children, Ramona (and Leigh) Taylor, Lonnie (and Christina) Williams, Dana Williams, Carlos (and Barbara) Williams and Kendall Williams; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
