Thomas C. Edwards Jr.

HEATHSVILLE—Thomas C. Edwards Jr., 44, of Heathsville, formerly of Charles County, MD., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 29, 2017.

He was born in Washington, D.C., to Thomas C. Edwards Sr. and Peggy Payne Edwards Jackson.

Tom was a “Jack of All Trades.” Most recently he worked as a carpenter/craftsman for Tiffany Yachts in Burgess. He previously ran a home improvement business and also spent many years working in the car industry.

He loved nature, animals, the ocean and fishing, especially with his grandfather, Keith E. Payne, at their favorite fishing holes in Lodge Creek and the Rivah.

He was a master at trivia and always looked forward to doing crosswords with his mother every week. He enjoyed cooking for large family gatherings and holidays, making sure to include friends that had nowhere else to go. He was a true and loyal friend to many.

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Melanie S. Edwards; his mother, Peggy Payne Jackson; his father, Thomas C. Edwards Sr.; his maternal grandmother, Doris J. Payne; his stepson, K. Brian Curtin Jr.; his brother, Adam Edwards; his sister, Dana Lamb; and a special young man, Justin Faiola. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 10, at Melrose United Methodist Church, 1317 Lewisetta Road, Lottsburg, VA 22511.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Callao Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 82, Callao, VA 22435.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
