The Northern Neck District produced three all-state harriers in last weekend’s cross country finals. They are Lancaster junior Dominique Veney, Northumberland senior Rain Eguiguren and Washington & Lee junior Jenifer Broglin.

Veney finished 12th out of 99 runners in the boys Group 1A race at Great Meadows in The Plains last Saturday.

Auburn’s Nolan Harris was the state medalist, winning the race in 16:03 to lead Auburn to the state championship with a low 40 points.

Mathews placed fourth in team scoring with 135 points as the top finisher among Region 1A teams.

Lancaster was ninth out of 12 teams with 205. Veney had the best finish among both Northern Neck and Region 1A runners with a time of 17:33.

The top 15 runners in the girls and boys races receive all-state honors.
