On March 24, approximately 150 students participated in the Northern Neck/Middle Peninsula Area Band event at Westmoreland High School. These students were chosen from about 350 at auditions in February.
Of the 80-plus students who were chosen to be in the middle school band, three were from Lancaster, seventh graders Malakhai Carter on percussion and Namira Coleman on clarinet, and eighth grader Abby Jones on clarinet.
