The Northern Neck District’s Lancaster and Rappahannock took three spots on the Class 1 all-state girls basketball teams. The honor squads were released by Virginia High School League last week.
Senior forward Brianna Rich of Rappahannock was named to the first team and her teammate, freshman guard Candace Slaw, was selected to the second team. The Raiderettes went 20-7 overall this season and 9-1 in the Northern Neck District as the champion of the district and Region 1A tournaments.
Senior guard Harmony Taylor of Lancaster also was named to the all-state second team. Taylor helped lead Lancaster to a 9-1 district record and was named the district’s player of the year.
