Tides Inn general manager Stuart Barwise passed unexpectedly on Friday, May 22. The Tides Inn on Tuesday, May 26, released the following statement:
“It is with deep sorrow that we share the news that the Tides Inn General Manager, Stuart Barwise, passed away on May 22, 2020. With his measured leadership and unwavering positivity, Stuart inspired all who worked with him. This is a tragic loss and he will be greatly missed by the Tang family and the Tides Inn team members. Our hearts go out to the entire Barwise family and those who had the pleasure of working with Stuart.
“While the cause of Stuart’s death remains unknown, we have reason to believe that it was not related to COVID-19. Nevertheless, we will continue to strictly adhere to the thorough measures that have been put into place at the Tides Inn to ensure the health and safety of our guests, team members and community.
“Stuart was a friend to many in the Irvington community and a beloved husband, father and grandfather. We will share more information on plans for a service as we have them.”
