Tides Inn to re-open for season March 12

The Tides Inn, 480 King Carter Drive, Irvington will re-open for the 2017 season on Sunday, March 12.

Upcoming special events will include a weekend-long Easter extravaganza April 14 through 16. Guests will enjoy music, morning yoga classes, egg decorating and an on-property Easter egg hunt with the Easter Bunny.

An Easter Egg Extravaganza will take place April 16 for ages five and younger at 10:00 a.m. on the front lawn and on the croquet lawn for children ages six to 12 at 10:15 a.m. Guests will have the opportunity to snap photos with the Easter Bunny at the hunt and following family-friendly Easter Sunday buffet brunch from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

A Tides Taste of Spring 2017 is slated April 22. A celebration of craft beer, cider and Virginia wines, Tides Taste of Spring features unlimited beer tastings, a commemorative glass and musical entertainment, as well as a special “Taste of Sailing” sponsored by Premier Sailing. Vendors will offer tastes of menu specialties, as well as crafts, arts and jewelry.

Tickets are $35 for 21 and over, $20 for guests under 21, with a $5 discount if purchased by March 15. Entertainment will be brought in part by Good Shot Judy and the Something Different Duo.

The resort will welcome back the second annual Classic Car Weekend May 6 and 7. Attendees are invited to wind through the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula on May 6 on the Northern Neck Road tour, departing from Tides Inn at 9:30 a.m. Preregistration is required for this event, $30 per car. The event will wrap up with the Classic Car Show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 7. Admission is $20 and includes a barbecue lunch and entertainment.

The first 100 classic cars to register will receive a commemorative dash plaque.

Mother’s Day activities will be offered May 12 through 14. Weekend events will open with a Friday afternoon Journey of the Teas seminar in which guests learn the benefits and proper preparation of the Inn’s private label teas. Saturday activities will include morning beachfront yoga, afternoon croquet and Chardonnay, followed by music and an outdoor moving screening at night.

On Mother’s Day the celebrations will begin with a guided scenic bike tour through historic Irvington, followed by brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
